You can sure see why the Twins don't want to give up on Meyer. When he's throwing strikes, his stuff is well nigh overwhelming. Mid to upper 90's heat that moves a lot, and a hard curve that can miss a lot of bats.

I don't wanna get off on a rant here, but--  I know Molly and crew have a lot more intimate knowledge of how workouts and injuries and such are going, but why, oh why, does he just persist in making the kind of lineup and game decisions that boggle the mind on an unending basis?  Just the simplest, most basic things that casual sidewalk knowledge would dictate, is thrown out the window for some kind of mystifying, Game of Thrones skulduggery...

An occasional head-scratcher can be explained away, but just since he took over, I've gone from a lush head of thick curls to looking like Dr. Evil.

There.  I'm done now.

Good going, in the 1st,  Mr. Meyer

If you remember, last year's lineups were very unconventional as well, yet they somehow seemed to work. I don't know whether to think he's a lot smarter than we'll give him credit for, or whether he's simply grown too big for his britches after having Fortune smile on him during his rookie year at the helm.

Every time there's a shot of the dugout, I see Roose Bolton in a Twins hat, working his dang gum, and plotting...

I'm not sure Gomez can play baseball without getting excited.

Gomez plays baseball with enthusiasm. I have no objection.

Are the striped stirrups that Rosario is wearing a new addition to the uniform? I don't remember seeing striped socks on a Twins player before.

Based on the radio call, I think Plouffe is wearing them, too.

I like Plouffe, and I'm not saying it was necessarily a mistake to bring him up, but after missing a couple of weeks, didn't he only play in 2 milb games?

Why, yes he is... It's a good look.

Done.

Bigger, next time?

I don't wanna have to hear about the one that got away...

With the way the Twins squander baserunners, I'll take one run for now. Two for next time, please.

Consecutive games reaching base: 84 – Ted Williams, Boston Red Sox – July 1 through September 27, 1949.

Wow. Insane.
