twinssporto Verified Member Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 Young Master Meyer is going to pitch a great game (everyone knock on wood)...Go Twins! Good Lord I love baseball! The next time I make such bold statements before game time I would appreciate a Moderator deleting my post and giving me 3 or 4 warnings...
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 Does that mean we are still on top of the AL Waiver wire? And i wouldn't say they're bad. Just tonight at least, another was better? At least at the various points of the game where it was at issue.Dejected--->Deflated---->Apathy I don't care enough to look this up even. My gut tells me we are at least ostensibly on the ash heap. http://www.allsmileys.com/files/smiley-central-emotions/4314.gif (edited for visual effect)

But the 'Stros nabbed 2nd to last in the AL from the Twins fair and square tonight. Guess we just tip our caps and wait for these two titans to clash again tomorrow.

Surviving bad Twins games is a team sport, so we'll take our share of the blame for a lack of knocking on wood like you asked. Btw, does Ikea stuff count?

Btw, does Ikea stuff count? Thanks LaBombo. No, Ikea stuff does not count. Hard wood only (oak, maple, cherry, etc.) Formica, glass, plastic and Cambria is excluded.

LaBombo Verified Member Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 So Milone, 3 R in 1 inning, 0 K and a long HR, pull him? I'm leaning toward hoping they push him instead.... ...but it's probably a little early in the season to DFA a guy who would have been the staff ace 3 years ago. But if he can't be effective in the pen, well.... On a team that could be just a few weeks away from being virtually eliminated from the postseason and as a result, in need of many, many innings to audition and season young pitchers, Milone is just a luxury they won't be able to afford.
Platoon Verified Member Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 As the thread is rapidly deteriorating, I dug up a Chief-worthy joke for you guys. Einstein, Newton, and Pascal are playing hide and seek. Pascal runs off and hides, but Newton takes out a piece of chalk and draws a square meter on the ground. He finishes and steps into the square just as Einstein shouts, "Ready or not, here I come!" Einstein looks up and immediately spots Newton standing right in front of him and intones, "I spy Newton!" Newton replies smugly, "No, you found one Newton per square meter. You found Pascal." I did not pay attention in physics, to the point I didn't even take physics. But I thought this was really really funny! I still like the one where Newton is hiding behind the fig tree better!
Platoon Verified Member Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 It wasn't the first time and it won't be the last. It's all a symptom of what has gone wrong in total tonight. People start getting frustrated and it spreads on to others. It got a little ugly. Even for me, someone who did not expect the Twins to win this year. My frustration is based on the team continuing to be run like its a contender, instead of an extended try out camp for the next 6 years like it should be. As a rule, I think gallows humor should be a requirement.
