The Twins have consistently had the highest payroll in the Central division for quite sometime and at last check were 19th out of 30 in team payroll.  Not great but not rotten.  My contention has been more with how the Front Office allocates those payroll dollars which is awful.  Yes the Pohlads could have done more.  Yes they are totally checked out in the team in fans.  This team does need new ownership and it needs  to dump both Baldelli and Falvey.  At least to get the stench out of the organization.

I have pretty much checked out a long time ago. When you root for your favorite team to lose, hoping it will force a change that is so long overdue, and then they just reinforce their bad decisions by making more, you walk away. I cannot watch this type of baseball. Owners, Front Office, Manager, Coaches, Star Players, take your pick....... this team is bad and there is no end to it in sight until we have a new Owner, new Front Office, new Manager, new Coaches, and new Star players. Decided to go to a game this summer, we are heading to Kansas City, not Minnesota.

Plenty of baseball to go watch other than the Twins. We also go to KC and we pick at least one other ballpark a year to travel to. Coors field in a few weeks is our next stop. I wanted to see a team on the Twins level to make it look like i was actually watching the Twins.

I would not be surprised if ownership actively resents and despises the fans.

Never forget that the Pohlads tried to contract the Twins out of existence when they didn't get a half billion dollar government handout.  If the Pohlads don't get their way they will punch down and punish whoever they can.  It's the billionaire way!

Now, when no one will give the Pohlads the $1.7b dollars they have been raised to believe is their birthright simply because they want it, they are punishing the folks they can always punish:  fans.

We have let this team down. Why should they reward us?

I sense this is sarcasm. If not, you have it backwards.

You say this repeatedly without any specifics.  Which expenditures exactly to you find problematic?  The most debatable expenditure is Correa which was popular here and a lot of people continue to support keeping him.

The only big salary is Pablo.  He is paid under market.  Buxton is a great value.  Granted Vasquez is bad but he was just slightly under league average ibn terms of WAR per dollar spent and it's not a big contract.

Last year, most people including me wanted Hoskins.  They got better production for 20% of the cost from Sanatana and France,  Bader has been great.

I would be great to hear the specifics of your problems with how many has been spent.  I am the fence with Correa and always have been so I get that one.  Gallo was not a great deal but it was one year and a modest amount and I fully expect some FAs won't work out.

Who where are the other great failures in spending.

How much longer until Correa and Buxton start asking to be traded? How many insanely stupid decisions can this ownership make? It's almost like watching a parody of how an MLB team should be run.

This is a perfect example of the contraction, we aren't going to spend money ownership that has not figured out how to capitalize on success but knows how to pile on when things go bad.  Just stupid and I did not care if he was hired or fired.

Totally agree the Twins are awful. However, I disagree about the not spending money part. The Twins have the 18th highest payroll in MLB and only about $400,000 behind the Tigers who seem to be doing just fine spending that amount. How and where the money is being spent is the problem.

I have a sneaking suspicion that Correa is not happy with how things are going and is getting frustrated.

Apparently he "voiced concerns," to the the FO the other day. Hopefully his primary concern is his own lack of production. The guy has accumulated zero WAR through half of the season and he's been a major contributor to the offensive woes.

If Correa has a problem, he should simply agree to waive his no trade clause and the Twins should find him a new team.  Clemens has .9 bWAR vs 0 for Correa.   This is not a perfect measure but it does provide some perspective.   Correa is the last guy that should be saying anything.

When will we all understand?  Attendance is WAY down and still no one listens to the fans.  It's simple...they don't care what we think.

I attended 2 games this week and got a request from the Twins to complete a customer satisfaction survey.

I completed the survey, but they didn't ask me about the baseball team.

Plenty of questions about hot dogs and parking and time spent in lines. How did i get to the ballpark? Music too loud? Feel safe?

Anything and everything except they asked nothing about the actual product.

Everything that ails the Twins... Starts right here... with this sentence.

It's not the money... it's what we are spending it on.

This is pretty much what we've come to expect from the Pohlad family and the current FO.  If it wasn't so frustrating it would be a great comedy.

Dan Hayes has pretty much explained that Correa is very unlikely to be going anywhere until his contract has expired. Correa bought a house, his family likes Minnesota in the summer, and he feels comfortable. Why would Correa want to uproot his family? Maybe he could be enticed to waive his NTC but even then the Twins would not receive anything in return as far as players. They would have a reduction in salary paid out. Lastly, until such time as Kaelen Culpepper is ready, the Twins do not have anyone else to play shortstop. Brooks Lee can make all the plays very capably on balls hit to him, but he has no range and is much slower than Correa. At shortstop those missed ground balls add up and the Twins are already among the worst teams at turning batted balls into out.

I'm going to suggest that we all just learn to love Carlos Correa because he will be playing for the Twins for a while. I'm not opposed to Correa playing for a different team, I just don't see it.

Rocco? He and Falvey are a package deal.

If they already know the answer, they don't need to ask the question

If this is true then Correa doesn't care about winning.

Customer surveys are the business equivalent of the push-polls you may get subjected to in political season.  They are intended to plant ideas and/or to reinforce a positive view on the topic.  They are not a sincere request for information.

If Derek Falvey actually wants to know how the customer experience is, all he needs to do is log into his own team's website to buy a ticket (remembering to turn off cookies or use a VPN), drive from his Edina McMansion to the fan parking facility, put on a COVID facemask and wear a hoodie and go in through security, and then buy a meal for the family that he'll pretend is already seated in section 327.
