"Lately" is my distinguisher. He's definitely got some good ones, but my taste leans toward the '90s and earlier.

I'd vote for Kristofferson off of "Me and Bobby McGee", "For the Good Times", "Help Me Make It Through the Night" and "Why Me", but I think "Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down" is one of the greatest songs ever written.

Fantastic peak.

But he's no John Prine.

I'll raise you "Sam Stone," "All the best" and "Far from me."

You know she still laughs with me,

But she waits just a second too long.

Hip discomfort?  Are you ****ing me?  I've been one of Buxton's biggest defenders, but this is getting ridiculous.  I've heard football coaches complain about wide receivers who have "track legs" and are always pulling something and can't/won't play with aches and pains.  At some point, you have to play with a little discomfort.

Peak vs. longevity is often the discussion. I'm thinking both would have pretty good JAWS scores.

My favorite (folkie) writer is actually a guy named John McCutcheon, who wrote this:

Richards and ble,wett didn't blow it ...

Nervous at the start but that 6 run inning was impressive  and the twins get the win ...

Yes, and wasn't it all with 2 outs?

Will be curious to see how long he's out for. Playing well of late. Already without Correa. If it is just a pain tolerance issue and not something more than that, he's gotta be out there.

As someone who is dealing with hip discomfort I can attest that it really does depend on the level of it.

What a pussy prima Donna.   The fact he made a bee line directly to the locker room, means that Byron is now self diagnosing his injuries?  Most players would at least stay in the dugout, tell the trainer, have them take a look at it, and have them determine if he can stay in the game.  Nope, not Byron.   He simply said "I'm outta here!"    (tired of him being injured on non-contact, or minimal contact plays)

John Prine slots in right behind Bob Dylan as the greatest songwriter of the last 50-75 years. "Hello in There" is the work of a genius. I also love the others mentioned and knew John McCutcheon as a young man in the 1970s. Big fan of Gordon Lightfoot and  Kristofferson as well (he helped Prine get his start).

White Sox did something the Twins couldn't do this year. Pummel the Yankees 12-2! Baseball is weird.

Grady Sizemore the new manager there. Hard to associate him with a franchise besides Cleveland.

When I have hip discomfort the level is almost always about halfway between my chest and knees.

My hip discomfort somehow always involves music that i'm not sophisticated enough to appreciate. If only i weren't so equilateral, equiangular, and four sided...
