Twins 26- & 40-man Roster Moves - 2024

It's time to boot up the annual Roster Moves thread where roster moves involving the 40 man roster are posted, as a place to easily see what moves have happened recently. Feel free to post news here if nobody else has yet to share it - and try to keep discussion to a minimum, that's what the other threads are for.

To start things off, Daniel Duarte is going to be added to the 40 man roster.

Miranda getting the call. Even though they're short an arm in the bullpen, this makes sense. Offense is so anemic right now and with Martin and Margot not getting any kind of run, might as well give Miranda a shot at 3B / 1B.

Looks like the Twins site said its a triceps strain so I would guess probably 2-3 weeks if it isn't a higher grade strain, but if it was I would have expected the 60 day IL in that case

Headrick to the 7-day IL. Forearm strain. So that leaves SWR as the only healthy pitcher in the minors that's on the 40-man roster. Woof. Oh, and Alcala's status is TBD. Hopefully with him it is just general soreness from having missed so much time the last couple of years.

PS. I'm not sure about the subway tokens part, even if it makes the most sense.

 

Who uses subway tokens in Minnesota? Of course they will. maximize value in the big apple.

Yeah, i was thrown off by the fact Krpler is an outfielder...

 

And is Lewis' 10 days about up? Any update?

They could have had Tonkin when they signed the dozen other relievers this offseason. I wonder why they're sticking him on the active roster over Castillo, Jensen, Blewett and Brigham?

Temporary move with a DFA after Thielbar is ready is my guess. I don't think they want to lose any of those you mentioned.

Lewis is expected to miss a minimum of six weeks with ten weeks the more likely outcome.

Brigham had to leave his last game and is on the Il, for what it's worth. But @stringer bell is exactly correct about the upcoming Thielbar plans and a likely Tonkin DFA, hoping to get him to St. Paul.

Alcala has options left. He'll be back probably as soon as he's eligible once the bullpen settles. Bowman will probably be needed today and then DFA'd.

If Bowman is DFA’d today, doesn’t Alcala have to stay at AAA for a week or 10 days?

The Twins gave Wallner 19 days--Wallner demoted to St. Paul, Trevor Larnach off rehab and promoted to the Twins.

Reminder: this thread is for posting about Twins roster moves ONLY, not opinions about players / coaches. The point of this thread is to have an easy place to see past and current transactions (AAA signings like Kemp are fine as they are potential options for the major league team).
