Twin 4th round pick (2020 I think) Trey Cabbage now an Astro

2015, according to mlb.com

One headline from last week calls him a 30-30 prospect. Either they are talking about owning a lever-action deer rifle, or I'm betting the under.

He did have a 30-30 year, but it was Salt Lake City in the PCL. The league average OPS was .822.

He was the Angels' 26th ranked prospect when they traded him to Houston. I saw him hit a home run when he played with the Kernels- just crushed a line drive. Good luck to him.

He did/is doing pretty well in the Venezuelan  Winter League.

Thanks for that. I keep forgetting about those Winter Leagues. I used to enjoy looking at the stats in the off-season. Besides Venezuela, is there still a Dominican or Puerto Rican Winter League?

Former Twin Brant Alyea passed away on February 4. Alyea started his stint with the Twins with a bang and hit a bunch of homers when Jim Perry pitched during the 1970 season.

Man, those obits of players I remember as young players is making me feel old. Ugh, on further reflection, I'm no spring chicken any longer either. In any case, sad news about Brant Alyea. He wasn't a Twin for that long, but I DID have his baseball card!

What was you favorite Bubba Thompson Twins moment? Claimed by the Reds today.

I'm sad. I haven't had a Bubba to root for in many years now. So fleetingly a Twin, and now gone already. Their is a void in my life!

That he holds a distinction of being on the 40-man roster. A unqiue group of inididuals who have held that spot, but never actually played for the Twins.

I see your Austin Brice and raise you an Austin Davis:

"Wait, Austin who??? There's no way he ever pitched for the Twins!"

He most certainly did, as Minnesota was his last MLB stop back in 2022 where he threw all of 1.2 innings, a number that Nick Gordon more than doubled.
