Serious question…. why is it wrong to voice opinions about Rocco’s decision making? It’s just a discussion about his in game decision making during a game thread…. seems absolutely logical. I am not trying to be difficult but…….?

I was referring to the players

Howevever … these threads are not to dump in, either … how many showed up this inning to make a comment about losing and getting rid of Rocco right at that opportune moment? Yeahs that’s a form of trolling, not discussion

Okay, those are two teams … two … does it always happen? I don’t know. Would be something to research. But I still think it’s a scapegoat move.

Two teams in recent memory. You can't fire the players so dismissing coaches/managers seems to be the consistent move in sports.

I don’t disagree that it’s done. I don’t know the research, though, either. But it is still a scapegoat move. Yes, one that’s done, often, in sports. I’m not defending Rocco here. My thoughts on that are well documented. It’s still a scapegoat move, whether it’s good or bad

Honestly, I would rather see Rocco go before Gray.

Rocco's not going anywhere.  He should but he isnt.  Dumping Rocco now after giving him an extension would mean the FO suits were wrong to extend him.  Its a neon sign blaring we are bad at our job fire us.  The suits arent going to turn that sign on.

Sorry, I thought you were referring to those of us that are pretty much done with Rocco….

I have thought that we would eventually finish in third place this season, but honestly, Detroit is a lot better baseball team than we are.   Perhaps a fourth-place finish will finally cause some movement in upper management.

It’s time to blow this up and move what can be moved. It’s hard to compete on a game by game basis when the lineup has 2 -3 automatic outs.

Wow. At the game...The entire Twins team just forgot how many outs there were. Balazovich had to coax em off the field.

If you need more evidence Rocco hasn't got this team performing....

Yes, it is the offense that needs to turn it around. The pitchers are starting to feel the stress of always trying to throw shutouts. You could see how careful Varland was pitching in a 1-1 game. This leads to problems, although Varland still needs to make the pitches.

Don't type the word for Cleveland's former nickname.  It's not allowed here and will be auto-changed to Guardians.  Iv'e discovered.

That’s right, for good reason. So don’t try to work around that. The owners have made their thoughts absolutely clear on that one.

I said another 3rd place finish and people laughed me to scorn.

See, now this is headed in the right direction, imo. Change always begins at the top. And the top would just replace Rocco with another Rocco. It’s not the manager.

Your kids get you tickets to this mess for Father’s Day? There’s still time to edit that will!

Rocco is unique in a variety of things.  Replacing him wouldn't guarantee anything or anyone better.  But, it's a possibility that it could.  A lot of his moves or non-moves are questionable, and he hasn't proven that his way is better.  But there are enough fundamental questions cpncerning his decisions that cause one to ponder.

That’s fair. But I just don’t think this is the problem with this team. I don’t think a different manager gets a different result. That’s all. I’m not advocating for either thing to happen, just don’t think it will make that big of a difference.

A lot of assumptions in there …

Don’t disagree but in my defense the Twins front office hasn’t been very open. Not that they are obligated to let’s us know what the heck is going on or what they plan on doing.

I think most of us are willing to see if changing managers gets a different result.

So not to be a jerk. But all the history of the Cleveland franchise. Was it changed to Guardians. As if they never were the Native Americans. Or the HOF plaques of players inducted. Were they changed?

I think Kiriloff is a good enough hitter to be in the lineup on a regular basis, whether the opposing starter is right or left handed.  If he doesn't start getting more  at bats against left handers, you're molding him into a platoon player.  And that's not fair to him or the team.

I agree with that. Wish I knew the story and I realize that in the absence of things people think they should be told, they fill the void. But, that’s the thing, we aren’t obligated to be told and just don’t know. Wish I were a fly on the wall, tbh. But then, I wouldn’t share. I’d just taunt you all that I know and I’m not telling 😉

I disagree.  If they lose this series against a .420 team he should be.  The losses have kind of been blowouts. Pitching and hitting not good.  This team needs different leadership.
