  1. Extend him for four years, long enough for him to help with Tait's development.
  2. With everything else that is wrong with this team, Buxton is the last thing to worry about.
  3. Why is there not a discussion of moving him to first base? Mauer did it, as do a lot of catchers. His offensive numbers could increase if he does not have to take the beating behind home plate.
  4. As an Indiana University graduate, I was told for years that our football program would never succeed in the tough Big Ten conference, that we were a basketball school and a minor bowl game was our best hope each season. We hire this unknown coach from a small school (James Madison) who told us all that "google me, I win". He goes 11-2 his first year, makes the Division 1 playoffs, only losing to the two teams in the national championship game. This year they are 5-0 ranked fifth in the country. It can be done if you hire the right people.
  5. The first step in getting quality coaches would be the dismissal of Tommy Watkins.
  6. He wasn't the total problem, but he did not help the matter. Falvey needs to be the next one to go, followed hopefully by new ownership so that this franchise can regain its footing.
  7. Am I the only one who thinks that resigning Vasquez at a smaller contract would not be the worst thing we could do? Also, I have had enough of Larnac and Wallner.
  8. We finally have seen a true "Buxton" season after all these years. Is is asking too much to have a couple of more?
  9. Martin is a not a good baserunner and Larnac continues to pile up the strikeouts.
  10. Are we forgetting the line drive that Julien misplayed yesterday that led to six runs? I know they gave Ramirez a hit on it, but come on, if Carlos Santana is at first, the Indians do not score in that inning.
  11. Keep in mind that Baldelli had Derek Shelton, Wes Johnson and James Rowson on the bench with him in 2019. After they all left, Baldelli was lost. On Gardenhire, could not stomach his "man crush" on Little Nicky Punto.
  12. While other teams are battling for playoff spots, we are holding tryouts.
  13. Random thoughts - - The ninth slot in the lineup goes 0-4 with four strikeouts. And I thought Vasquez was bad in the nine hole. - Funderburke O/U on losses now at seven and a half. - Agree with earlier poster, with a major league second baseman in the game last night, Ryan gets out of the first without a run. - Roden did not have a good game, but, and this may sound crazy, but his long foul ball had a loud crack off the bat. - Falvey's interview was an insult to all Twin fans. However, my hats off to Corey Povus for asking the same questions I would have asked. Falvey spun away from all of them but appreciate the attempt. - Anyone aware of a Buxton press conference today?
  14. Whatever went down, the fact remains that the Correa contract was an albatross for a declining player. Reminds me of the Angels contract with Pujols.
  15. I see Julian's defense did not get much better at St. Paul
  16. If it were not for Wallner's great defense in right field, it would be hard to justify him in the lineup.
