  1. Naylor continues to haunt us no matter what uniform he wears.
  2. I think Shelton is a very good manager but question the walk to Rodriguez. We lost the game when Caratini decided to leave the bat on his shoulder in the top of the inning and did not challenge two balls that were called strikes out of the zone.
  3. Jettison Bell and Caratini, move Larnach to DH, bring up Jenkins to play LF. Bring up Culpepper to play SS as Kriedley as quit hitting.
  4. Where would be if we had this bullpen coming out of spring training? BTW, don't overlook the great managing job by Shelton in the game. Moving personnel defensively to maximize offensive platooning was very good. Something Baldelli would never do.
  5. How about a shoutout for Alex Jackson. Saw the kid hit a home run at Lakeland earlier this year and have not seen anything yet that indicates that he is overmatched up here.
  6. Williams was at his best yesterday. He had everything working and when he is on, he is a very good pitcher. Remember, you are only as good as tomorrows starting pitcher.
  7. If he plays anywhere in the outfield, it should probably be left field as he lacks the arm strength to play right field.
  8. Let's wait until he wins three batting titles, then we can make a comparison.
  9. Keaschall is struggling with both hitting and fielding. As I mentioned some time ago, there seem to be more popups to the right side of the field than solid contact. Slide Clemens into second base where both his offensive and defensive are better.
  10. It's time for Royce to come home and bring his "buddy" with him. He can be Culpepper's mentor on how to break into the big leagues.
  11. Extend Jennings to begin the climb up to what will eventually be the "floor level" salary requirement of the new CBA.
  12. It may be time for a Keaschall reset at St. Paul. A lot of popups to the right side and his defense makes Julien look like a gold glover. Perhaps Lewis back to third and Lee to second to see if that works better.
  13. Beginning to worry about Keaschall's bat. A lot of pop ups to the right side is usually an indication of a slow bat or misread of a pitch.
  14. Extend him for four years, long enough for him to help with Tait's development.
  15. With everything else that is wrong with this team, Buxton is the last thing to worry about.
  16. Why is there not a discussion of moving him to first base? Mauer did it, as do a lot of catchers. His offensive numbers could increase if he does not have to take the beating behind home plate.
  17. As an Indiana University graduate, I was told for years that our football program would never succeed in the tough Big Ten conference, that we were a basketball school and a minor bowl game was our best hope each season. We hire this unknown coach from a small school (James Madison) who told us all that "google me, I win". He goes 11-2 his first year, makes the Division 1 playoffs, only losing to the two teams in the national championship game. This year they are 5-0 ranked fifth in the country. It can be done if you hire the right people.
  18. The first step in getting quality coaches would be the dismissal of Tommy Watkins.
