Good move. Need a catcher and he was second best on the market, best on the defensive side. Maybe this helps Correa decide the Twins are where he wants to be.

Yeah, catchers bore me, but others seem to really crave this position, so I’m happy they tossed us something to tide us over. $10M is peanuts in today’s free agent pay. This will have no impact on any other signings.

3/$30M is a fantastic deal for an experienced game-caller who has a solid pop-time to 2B. Proven winner with Red Sox & Astros. Beloved locker room leader - Red Sox players were collectively broken when he was traded to Astros at the last deadline. He's said to be great at helping pitchers, and Twins will have a lot of young pitchers over the next 3 years who need the help. Also, he hits much better without the shift from what I recall.

Signing Vazquez is an excellent move for the Twins. Love it.

Excellent addition - cost is fine too.  Really checks all our boxes - strong defensively, good with a young staff, veteran presence, decent bat.

I have know idea why people do not give Gordon his due.  Replace Max with Gordon and maybe bat him #9 behind Vasquez as more of a speed guy on base for Arraez.

As good of a hitting catcher as we could hope to get. Defensive numbers look decent too. If his offensive numbers continue, he’d be one of the twins’ best hitters (unless everyone else picks it up a bit…. Which, hopefully they will).

Agreed - I have a 2nd version with Gordon in LF... just waiting for Kepler to be moved first. For those who are into meaningless stats without context, Vazquez has hit best at 5th and 9th over his career.

Yea. For some reason, like Areaez, everyone will try to find reasons why Gordon is no good. Meanwhile his numbers get better and better.

Very good FA signing in my opinion. Gary has power, but boy was he frustrating at times last year. Vazquez has been quite durable since 2019 and can actually hit lefties...something we all know this team cannot do.
