Twins 2022 Minor League Transactions

Figured I'd start a forum thread for in-season Twins minor league transactions... 

This weekend, the Twins signed RHP Ariel Jurado RHP Tyler Viza. 

Today, they released RHP Seth Pinkerton, C Collin Hopkins, 1B Gabe Snyder and OF Ernie De La Trinidad. 

No surprises. You just feel bad for them. Hopefully, they are able to catch on somewhere else or with their next profession.

An average draft for a team yields two major leaguers and one of those two isn't anything special.

Northfield's Jake Petricka signed to the minors.

If he somehow makes it up to the Twins, they'll have two Northfield natives.  Would be cool for a town of 21K to have to big leaugers on the hometown team.

Barnes debuted.....it was brief.  I think he signed with a team in Japan this offseason.

Darn, too bad for Kerrigan. He's got some pop, can field CF well, and can steal a base. The problem is that he's already 28... he should land on another AAA roster soon enough.

Not unexpected, but disappointing. He had a big arm at one point. Maybe a change of scenery will help.

Ernie Yake promoted to Saints from Ft. Myers. Minor League free agent Cole Sturgeon promoted from Wichita to Sains, as Jake Cave goes on inactive list.

Casey Legumina and Osiris German moved from Cedar Rapids to Wichita.

Orlando Rodriguez joins the Cedar Rapids Kernels.

Brandon Lawson released.

St. Paul Saints released Ryan Mason. Thought the guy had potential.

The Saints added Roy Morales who had been on the Development Roster at Wichita. He can hit, he can catch, he is a guy to watch!

Dylan Thomas, who has basically been injured all last year and started this year on the IL, was released.

The Twins signed Hunter Wood to a minor league contract and will work him out of the FCL complex. 

 

He has pitched 71 games, mainly out of the bullpen, for the Rays, Guardians and Rangers.

He was once a Twin back in 2019 when they traded Michael Reed to the Giants for John's contract. And then he was sent in a minor deal to the Mariners later that season.

Wood is in training camp at Ft. Myers. Not sure how far or where he will end up as the season progresses.
