The OF, Will Benson, that the Reds got from the Guardians had better be good or the Reds got fleeced. Hajjar, a 2nd round pick and another player going to the Guardians for Benson. Upon further reading, Benson has made the Reds roster - he struggled for 5 years and put things together last year. As long as he's not a 1-year wonder, maybe the Reds get the best player in the deal. But I'm not counting on it as the Guardians seem to always win these trades in the long run.

Yeah, that's surprising that the Red gave up on Hajjar so quickly, or at least they thought that trading him was a better option. I liked it when the Twins drafted Haijar out of college, and I still think he could be a good MLB starter. And like FlyingFinn said, the Guardians tend to have good luck with the pitchers they develop, so stay tuned! jkcarew 1
Clear Lake Twinsfan Verified Member Posted April 1, 2023 Posted April 1, 2023 According to milb.com, the Twins have released a few more players from their minor league teams. The Saints released 1B Dalton Kelly, the Kernels released RHP Derek Molina and RHP Jon Olsen, and the FCL Twins released RHP Isaiah Rivera and OF Ismael Perez. Althebum82, FlyingFinn and jkcarew 3

IIRC he was a flier draft choice with some real talent but needed TJ when drafted, or had just had it. Then, with the pandemic, he didn't return to the mound until 2021. He hasn't exactly flashed since his return, and will be 26 in May. Getting a little old to be any sort of prospect. And I'm guessing the stuff just never came back. But mildly surprised he wasn't moved to the pen permanently and given a little more time. Unfortunately, the deck was stacked against him.

He had Tommy John that last year at UCLA, but the Twins got him in the 11th round. He ended up having another Tommy John surgery and returned to action in 2022. That's why they sent him to the AFL, to get some extra innings. They released RHP Tyler Beck in early May. He was putting up some really solid numbers in his return from Tommy John. But I chatted with him and he was all understanding of it, said the Twins explained it, said they had kept expectations for him, and he was fully aware of them. And ultimate understood that it is a numbers game. Very mature response to my message. Dman and DocBauer 2

FlyingFinn Verified Member Posted August 29, 2023 Posted August 29, 2023 Wow, just heard on the radio - David Festa promoted to AAA. I thought maybe they would leave him down in Wichita just to pitch in the playoffs, which it appears they would have made for winning the 2nd half. Without Festa, that could be challenging, but they have been playing their best AFTER Lee, Severino and Kiersey got moved up.
Hawkeye Bean Counter Verified Member Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 Severino and Camargo added to the 40 man. Now the other 2 big ones left are Austin Martin and Emmanuael Rodriguez. There are a few others, but those are the most likely 4. FlyingFinn and 4twinsJA 2
