Rained out in Detroit

Apparently the weather that we had in SE Minnesota on Wednesday has made it's way to Michigan. Both games of the doubledheader have been postponed. I do not know how they will make this up, but we can all focus on the off-the-field news (players rehabbing, Buxton negotiating extension).

I wonder if the 40 man move to add Barnes was official or it is paperwork teams do just prior to games.

Just read that one of the games that was to be played today will be played tomorrow ... so, a split double header tomorrow ... with the same pitchers that were to go today (Barnes and Maeda) at 12:10pm and 5:10pm CT. The other game that was to be played today will be played on Aug. 30, at 1:10pm CT.

Well, a reverse Ernie Banks I guess  - let's not play 2  - but we will play 2 tomorrow!    Was looking forward to a nice distraction from work on Friday afternoon and seeing Charlie Barnes pitch.

At least Detroit is also rained out, so we won't lose ground in the standings to them...

Yeah. Unfortunately doesn't help much. They still have 7 games in 5 days starting tomorrow.

The Twins canning afford to miss out on playing Detroit. We need to clean up on teams that are worse than we are! WHAT? We are behind Detroit in the standings? How can that be?

Good. Bump another game until after the trade deadline.  That way the Twins are more likely to keep trade-able players healthy.  Then, after the deadline, we get another game to start evaluating the future!!!!!
