Starts with your top two starters underperforming in back to back games. Berrios can only give you 6 innings after being spotted a 7 run lead after 3. Maeda is a complete mess and pulls off a miracle to give the club 5 innings yesterday....both starts against teams with average lineups, at best.

One frustrating thing is how seldom teams call up relief specialists from the minors. Almost all of them are at least former starters, if not starters being used as relievers. Gotta unload Waddell and call up a relief specialist. 

Who would that be? I don't see any obvious candidates in AAA. Most every reliever these days start out as starters, even Alcala was still starting games full-time in 2019.

Do y’all still think the Twins will be in a position to be buyers at the deadline? If so, we’ll need to play at a 115-ish win team from now until July. If past history tells us anything, expect a mini rebuild, possibly major if we capitalize on Buxton’s MVP type season.

If I'm not mistaken, Oliver Perez was waived and not claimed. Twins need to sign him and Shane Greene right after this game.

Twins will never contend with this bullpen. They are horrible. Duffey, rogers...can't close the door.

Compound it by sure handed Donaldson booting a grounder. Then they put in the kid, who throws batting practice for the 2nd time in 2 tries.

Rocco emerges from the dugout to a loud chorus of well deserved boos.

 

The pitching staff is a mess. But most of it is the pen where nobody is effective. Twins I believe have given up runs in the 10th inning of all 6 extra inning losses.

No, they should be sellers. Even if they pulled off a miracle run to get into the playoffs, the bullpen and manager would not be a realistic threat in the postseason

uh, if that is what he was doing, which I highly doubt, it's a fireable offense. You don't "throw" a game to show up the front office when you're 5 games below .500 a month into the season.
