There once was a guy named Cruz,

Who liked his afternoon snooze.

And, once his nap was done,

He'd hit more baseballs a ton,

Yet another pitcher gets the blues!

Tonight brings the Braves to town for a three game series and, if recent history is any guide, opposing pitchers need to be brave when facing the Twins lineup.

*Our very own Tom Froemming came up immediately when I searched You Tube.

The Twins have been putting on quite the power display, to the point it seems like fans would be disappointed with a 10-0 win, if there weren't any home runs hit. (okay, not really. Or, are we that spoiled by this team?)

And, with that, I realize I've run out of time, and Ideas, so, we will wrap this up with some thoughts. Questions? Random letters tossed together that need their own version of the Rosetta stone to decipher?

1. If the Twins win, and no balls leave the park, is it truly a win? (yeah, ya'll saw that one coming, didn't you?)

2. Do we have an over/under line on baseballs hit out of the park?

3. Should the line on home runs also include Atlanta?

4. Dozier threw a ball to Suzuki and Escobar hit one out of the park. Only in baseball.

Lineups:

5. Play ball!

And now, for some nostalgia:

Aaron Gleeman tweeted about Garver only starting 28 of 54 games since returning from the IL in early June. I don't know why he's not getting the starts at 1B over Adrianza...

Well today it probably has to do with getting as many LHB in the lineup as possible. Soroka has a rather severe split.

Could be. You would think a dangerous hitter like Garver isn't sitting 4 out of the last 5 games...

Has anyone else ever noticed the Twins never have news article on the front page of MLB.com. I mean today two top teams playing and they have nothing!

We need more poem openings to the Game Threads. It's a nice way to calmly pontificate on the upcoming ball game. Brings the reader closer to the action and drama that awaits us.

Violets are red, Violets are blue, The Twins hit homers and so do you!...I'll keep working on my prose. Hopefully I will think of something before I do another game thread opener. I like the trend you're setting.

Limericks? Haiku?

There was an old man..................Said with a laugh, "I
From Peru, whose lim'ricks all....Cut 'em in half, the pay is
Look'd like haiku. He.....................Much better for two."

Yes... But get back here before the street lights come on.

You used to be a kid? Hey! I used to be a kid!

A random fan outside Gate 34. Or maybe not so random.

Wait TD has a shirt? I need one, as I'll be at the game Sept 19!

National lg, Nelson batting= Nice

Speaking of which, if the Twins make it to the WS I wonder if Cruz would be opposed to getting reps in the outfield

"What has made the Twins and the Braves so good this year - starting pitching"

I think the offense might beg to differ.

one of the best hitters in the game this year. I don't get it at all.

I'll say it again, if they don't need Sano to move their, then Garver should. He would be leading all of MLB in first base WAR.......At a minimum, he should be catching 60% of the games, not half.

Eddie should have taken that question. "Umm...well....bombas."

Garver is hitting better than almost anyone in baseball this year....who would you trust more to get a big hit, no matter the pitcher? Also, what about the other games he hasn't played?

I was only speaking to today. I mentioned last week that I was surprised Garver wasn’t playing first some with Cron out.
