Rocco's post-game didn't impress me but I am also not upset or shocked about any of it. Pretty much straight from the PR playbook, as you succinctly noted. I quoted you on the paragraph above because I believe he could have been "honest" and made a point about how poorly the team played, compared to the majority of the season...and how he perhaps made some moves that were poor decisions...and how he knows some guys didn't play to the excpectations we all had coming into the series...and how the breaks, rightfully so, just did not go their way...and that maybe there is some mystique about the Yankees and Twins but that this Twins franchise will overcome that by just playing better baseball...and he could have just said I am sorry about the outcome but I am also happy and proud of this season and the team's accomplishments. None of that is throwing someone or the franchise under the bus and I don't believe the fans, the good fans, the supporters of this team, the majority, and possibly even the media, would want to bang those statements on his head over and over. I think Rocco tried hard to use the PR playbook but he missed when he didn't acknowledge that we, the FANS, are frustrated, even if he truly isn't. That acknowledgment would be good Public Relations.

Right-on...was fun spending nights and weekends watching baseball, getting to know the players better, seeing that team camaradarie and keeping track of the victories. Shame, Shame on the Yankees for spoiling our fun!

Ronco Baldenhire

The Twins can pull this off but it will require something like we saw last time NY was in town, so I am guessing we will see a 8-7, 10-8 or maybe even a 12-11 game.

Rocco managed like the rookie he is. Most of the players looked spooked (is it Halloween already??). Something/Someone needs to step up or the next two games will be big-time bummers. I don't like this any more than anyone else. It feels like that famous phrase uttered by Pedro...

If Arraez cannot go come Friday, I expect we will see Astudillo on the roster. I am going out on a "not really that far off the tree" limb to say he will deliver some clutch hits for this team.

Big bummer...but, the rest of the guys may look at it as having something/someone to win for. Maybe that will be a good thing.

Watching the celebration on FSN. GarvSauce seems to be having a great time and some of the clubhouse guys are too! But Audra Martin doesn't seem to be enjoying it as much. I don't think she likes to get messy! lol!!

Double Yay!

...and then there was ONE!

Cruz hits #40 of the year and #400 for his career. That, to me, is the coolest moment of the year! Just an overall class act and definitely a player to root for. He deserves the accolades. Hopefully this team can bring him a championship ring too.

Can we just skip ahead due to time constraints?

We have seen over the past decade or so in the men's pro leagues, young and relatively unknown teams that have become playoff-bound division champions, only to be beaten. But they ride that wave of success to eventually become world champions and dominant in their sport for several years. The Warriors and Astros come to mind. This current Twins team can achieve that too. Perhaps this is not their year to win it all but they are laying the foundation like those other teams have done.

Shame! scottz. You shall walk the streets naked while we fling pig poo at you. Okay, Okay... I am doing the same thing as you, lol. The point is, most all of us rarely give 100% every day for the things we do to make a living. Puig is no different. He is an enigma that's for sure. But sometimes as fans of sports, we need that odd person, quizzical to us, a villain of sorts, someone that is easily identified, to make ourselves feel better for a brief period.

A division crown is very close but definitely not a sure thing with the latest round of news about Pineda, Buxton and Kepler and with several other regulars ailing. Just don't know what to think. So close but yet so far...sigh.
