I don't understand using Dyson here at all. Let him relax after throwing yesterday and probably feeling like he let his new teammates down. You're up 4 runs. Zero reason to use your 2nd best reliever in this situation.

Yikes. I know Dyson is much better than this, and I think most of us understand that. However, for the average fan who isn't into message boards and advanced stats and looking at previous history, I can guarantee you this move isn't sitting well with an average fan.

Sam Dyson is legitimately better than every hitter he has faced thus far. The fact he hasn't retired a single one is a sad anomaly. I feel for the guy. He's gotta be putting a lot of pressure on himself to rebound from yesterday, when he had to pitch after a cross-country flight and not arriving to the stadium until after the game starter.

 

The excuses end after today, without a doubt. But I have faith in Dyson
