Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 Perez's start against NYY 7/22: 4 IP, 5 ER, 7 Hs, 4 Ks, 3 HRsPerez's start against KCR 8/2: 5 IP, 5 ER, 7 Hs, 3 Ks, 3 HRs I'm willing to give Perez with a bad start against the Yanks, but yikes, this isn't looking good. Of course, this is nothing strange for Perez's track record...
bighat Verified Member Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 Cruz got deeked there. Nevertheless, Eddie gets it done!
HawksNest Verified Member Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 Cruz gets clowned haha Way to go Eddie!

DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 TIme to get Perez out of here. Man, wish Falvey and Levine knew how to work a phone and would have given the Blue Jays a call back re: Stroman. This is just painful FWIW, the Twins were trying to acquire Stroman before he was traded to the Mets. There was a report from a local scribe that the Twins FO was PO'd when the trade took place as they were apparently serious and never got a call back. Some are of the opinion this is local reporting hyperbole. Take it all as you will.

jz7233 Provisional Member Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 Sano again failed to deliver...
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 Time for Smelzer to get 4-5 starts as part of the rotation?
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 Will be interesting to see how many innings we try to get out of Thorpe. I would imagine at least the 6th and 7th.
twins1095 Verified Member Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 Sano again failed to deliver... Like the 8th inning against the Yankees? Get out of here man every single player on the Twins has dozens of ABs where the popped out with runners in scoring position. WAIT EVERY SINGLE PLAYER IN THE MLB DOES.
FLTwinsGuy Verified Member Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 Well that's not the start you want...
FLTwinsGuy Verified Member Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 Might need 10 runs to win this game
DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 Perez has given up 4 or more runs in 6 of his last 9 starts.I was anything but a supporter for the Perez signing, despite the FO being familiar with him, or his previous prospect rankings. Then he got off to an amazing start, which I enjoyed but didn't trust. The weird thing is, when he began to struggle, I suddenly found myself supporting him. It seemed to me the games I listened to and watched, be was suddenly a victim of errors, squibs, and the "one bad inning" syndrome. I still saw good IP and good SO numbers. Even tonight, some good IP. I'm just not sure who he is at this point.
bighat Verified Member Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 PS - how did Eddie not get a double on his hit last inning? Not running hard. Disappointed, Eddie!
Dakota15 Provisional Member Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 Pretty sure outside of Berrios's starts (and Pineda crazy enough) we have to score 8-10 runs every game to give us a chance
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 For all those wondering why Perez was left in so long. The bullpen answers your question.
luckylager Verified Member Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 Sano again failed to deliver...I think you need to temper your expectations.

Get out of here man every single player on the Twins has dozens of ABs where the popped out with runners in scoring position. WAIT EVERY SINGLE PLAYER IN THE MLB DOES. For example, the Messiah himself, Bryce Harper, came up with the bases loaded last inning when the Chisox intentionally walked Hoskins to get to him. Harper struck out. It happens.
bighat Verified Member Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 Thorpe walks this guy and I'll explode into a blind rage...

There was a report from a local scribe that the Twins FO was PO'd when the trade took place as they were apparently serious and never got a call back. Some are of the opinion this is local reporting hyperbole.Take it all as you will. Yeah I saw that report too. The point being that if that's the guy you identify to upgrade the rotation, I don't want to hear whining from the FO through the local media that they "never got a call back" from the Blue Jays. Falvine have a telephone, keep calling, call them back, etc. etc. it's not that complicated. They can call, text, whatever. "never got a call back" just sounds like a lame excuse to me especially considering we had PLENTY of prospect ammunition to give up to get Stroman. Could be wrong (I probably am, lol) but just feels like they botched the Stroman deal, a huge miss. Just my two cents.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 Geesh. We can't get anyone out today
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 Starting guys out 3-0. One might call that living dangerously.
FLTwinsGuy Verified Member Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 This is a reoccurring nightmare with this bullpen..good lord this is painful
bighat Verified Member Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 Well, got a big strikeout but the relief didn't last long. Gosh darn it.
twins1095 Verified Member Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 I know that Zach Littel and Lewis Thorpe are different people but what do they do differently again? Is Littel the one that got a MPH bump from the bullpen?
Dakota15 Provisional Member Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 Watching this team pitch is a painful experience
