Did anybody notice (pry not) that the Rays and Marlins only have a 2 game series this wknd so the Rays and the Marlins are not scheduled tonight??
How weird is that? When was the last time the Twins didnt have a scheduled game on a Friday in the regular season?

I only noticed bc I am lucky to live in FL

 

Cardinals and Oakland also off tonight. This has happened a couple times this year for whatever reason, I remember a few teams not playing on a Friday in late June as well.

It's odd that MLB would schedule Friday as an off-day. I would think that gate receipts are lower as a result. The Yankees and Red Sox had a Friday off on the weekend they went to London for their two games on Sat and Sun, but that actually make sense.

I was kidding. But, seriously, the way an option usually works is that it has to be exercised by a certain date. No reason it can’t be exercised now, right?
