tvagle Verified Member Posted August 1, 2019 Posted August 1, 2019 ...Stashak allows too many hits...in two appearances??
SwainZag Community Moderator Posted August 1, 2019 Posted August 1, 2019 He's gunna Poppen down to Rochester soon if you know what I mean
PDX Twin Verified Member Posted August 1, 2019 Posted August 1, 2019 We actually have to use Rogers in this game Because??? We don't want him available for tomorrow?
MNT1996 Verified Member Posted August 1, 2019 Posted August 1, 2019 Because??? We don't want him available for tomorrow? Because Rocco managed the pitchers this game terribly.
bighat Verified Member Posted August 1, 2019 Posted August 1, 2019 Unfortunate the Twins have to use Rogers. On the plus side, he just struck out Castro and the Twins are 1 out away from another win.
twinssporto Verified Member Posted August 1, 2019 Posted August 1, 2019 Berrios: Hey Rocco! Got a quick minute to chat? Rocco: Sure Jose, what's on your mind? Berrios: Why did you pull me after 7? I felt great. Pitch count was great. Rocco: Trying to save your arm son for the post season. Berrios: Thanks coach appreciate it. Unfortunately, the way your managing that bullpen its probably gonna cut 5-10 years off your life and most likely prematurely kill a large portion of the Twins fan base. Just sayin'.
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 1, 2019 Posted August 1, 2019 Chicken dinner in honor of Jose Berrios's fine game: Well, maybe "honor" is putting it too strongly - J.O. may be tired of hearing Ole and Lena jokes. Also, this isn't a good enough dinner.
SwainZag Community Moderator Posted August 1, 2019 Posted August 1, 2019 Meh. 7-0. Miami. Ive got no problem Poppen him out then. That wasn't the problem.

jz7233 Provisional Member Posted August 1, 2019 Posted August 1, 2019 Winner winner, Jamaican jerk chicken dinner. That chicken looks overcooked.
bighat Verified Member Posted August 1, 2019 Posted August 1, 2019 No save for Rogers today? Hasn't been awarded yet, but it seems like it should be. Right?
jz7233 Provisional Member Posted August 1, 2019 Posted August 1, 2019 Hasn't been awarded yet, but it seems like it should be. Right?Yep.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 1, 2019 Posted August 1, 2019 Dyson for Poppen and I would presume Cron for Stashak. "Only" a seven-man bullpen.
PDX Twin Verified Member Posted August 1, 2019 Posted August 1, 2019 No save for Rogers today? Rule used to be a full inning with a three-run or fewer lead OR entering the game with the tying run in the on-deck circle. Neither of those applies tonight.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 1, 2019 Posted August 1, 2019 Yep.No, Rogers only pitched two-thirds. The rule is either protect a three-run or less for a whole inning or finish the game when facing the tying run or having the tying run on deck.
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 1, 2019 Posted August 1, 2019 No save for Rogers today?Correct. The part of the Save rule that garners the most complaint, "you can come in with a 3 run lead and get the save" applies only if the reliever registers at least 3 outs. And with nobody on base, he didn't qualify under the other clause of the rule either. No save. / ninja'd two times over
PDX Twin Verified Member Posted August 1, 2019 Posted August 1, 2019 Dyson for Poppen and I would presume Cron for Stashak. "Only" a seven-man bullpen. But the pen is pretty well rested right now and we'd best be getting these guys' 10-day demotions started so they can come back up soon.
jz7233 Provisional Member Posted August 1, 2019 Posted August 1, 2019 Rocco managed to lose the shutout and as soon as the shutout was gone, he should have sent Rogers to collect his save. It's a bad management of the game.
bighat Verified Member Posted August 1, 2019 Posted August 1, 2019 Rocco managed to lose the shutout and as soon as the shutout was gone, he should have sent Rogers to collect his save. It's a bad management of the game. I mean, it sucks from a fantasy perspective but I don't think MLB managers really care about that. Unfortunately for some of us!
akmanak Verified Member Posted August 1, 2019 Posted August 1, 2019 Not to complain about 7-0 but should be 8-0 with a runner on first and one out.
jz7233 Provisional Member Posted August 1, 2019 Posted August 1, 2019 I mean, it sucks from a fantasy perspective but I don't think MLB managers really care about that. Unfortunately for some of us!It's Rogers' save opportunity. Every save matters.
jz7233 Provisional Member Posted August 1, 2019 Posted August 1, 2019 I bet both Berrios and Rogers are not too happy about it. Berrios might want a complete game shutout or at least another inning. Rogers might want to collect his save.
David HK Verified Member Posted August 1, 2019 Posted August 1, 2019 They would have to make a corresponding 25-man move ... who goes down?Poppen?
AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted August 1, 2019 Posted August 1, 2019 It’s an easy win. Berrios pitched great, Garver, Rosario and Kepler bombas, Rogers shut down the small insurrection, Poppen made it easy for him to be sent down for Dyson. It’s all good.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted August 1, 2019 Posted August 1, 2019 Correct. No save. / ninja'd two times overOoh, I got one: has anyone ever come in to the game in the 9th with one out and a three run lead and nobody on, had a passed ball third strike with the runner reaching and then proceeded to get the save?
