That was horrible at bat by Cron.  Everyone seems to be guessing tonight.  Ump is giving Thor the edges as well.

At least they took one game from the Mets.  Tough to just give a game away but I guess that is the way it works sometimes.  Growing pains I guess.

I am detecting sarcasm, but I will give you a straight answer.

On second thought no I won’t. Message me private and we’ll arrange to meet up at a bar and play “real time vs. second-guess” bingo during a game sometime. :)

I was serious.  It was a good idea!

Fifth inning was just as tough to take in person as I'm sure it was on TV.

With the wind blowing in... Just throw strikes!

Aha, that helps explain it. A “wind blowing in” situation calls for fastballs, as the breaking balls don’t have as much action as the wind carries them to the plate faster.

Funny, I just said that about this bottle of Scotch.

Funny, I said that about that half carton of ice cream in the freezer. I was extra ticked off so I crumbled a cookie on top of it and loaded on some chocolate sauce for good measure.

46 years of the DH, and yet we have to play as if it were 1972. Makes no sense.

Sorry, but the NL game is more like a chess game. Putting up with pitchers batting maybe twice a game is well worth the extra nuance, strategy and intrigue.

Yeah he was just swinging at random - looks like the team is embarrassed and wants to go home.

Everyone has their vices! Some just don't cause brain freezes!

Just think what might have happened if that freak play that picked the runner off third on the wild pitch hadn't happened in the 5th.

Look, I think we all knew there would be some bad innings early from this BP until we found some guys. Time to get that shuttle up and running. Vasquez and DeJong, no. Who's next?

On the Twins' 40 man:

Duffey

Gonsalves

Littell

Romero

K. Stewart

Thorpe

We've also got:

Magill (IL)

Moya (IL)

Reed (IL)

I think at this point you have to go Duffey or Romero and just roll the dice. It can't get any worse.

Of course Kimbrel would be nice also.

Had to turn it off after that last Perez walk.

I'll check the box score later, maybe.

Then what is your plan for the 7th and 8th?

It all comes back to not having enough MLB relievers when the season started. Ryne Harper is a great “story”? That was the company line all spring. It doesn’t help unless he’s good enough to get big outs. So far, he has not been asked to do so. Mejia is showing he isn’t ready for big outs either. So, like the last decade, the Twins have 3 guys they can count on in the pen. That’s 3 too few.

What's your plan for the 7th and 8th when you're down 6-1 and now don't have a chance to use your best relievers?

Non-40-man, I could see Mike Morin getting a shot. (Could DFA DeJong again? Although he could elect free agency even if he clears...)

But we're not in the NL. That was my point.

As I’ve posted several times since spring training this bullpen is awful. The idea that Falvey is some sort of pitching guru is a joke. Can’t wait for Pérez to join the rotation. Sheez

Very, very early, but Romero has 5 hitless innings in Rochester so far:

Looks like Morin's had a couple good appearances so far too. Although the whole team has a 11.6 K/9, so who knows.

But they are playing in an NL park and with 15 teams in each league there's always going to be interleague play. It's just the Twins turn.

I really don’t want to see Perez in the rotation

Although if Perez is in the rotation, we wouldn't have to see him come out of the pen. And we skip his rotation spot for off days, maybe we wouldn't have to see him at all!

Not even close. You always pinch hit after the sixth, unless you are way ahead. And that doesn't make up for the first two or three awful at bats for each team.

Story of the game is lineup being dominated by Syndergaard.

More of the side story. Even in the Mets' fans minds. They saw the same comedy we did.
