Game Thread: Twins @ Mets, 4/10 @ 6:05pm CT

Hit 'em. Unreal.

[ScrapTheNickname]

I’m going slightly mad...

I'm mad.

[twins_89]

This was not an ideal time for Vasquez to make his first appearance of the year.

[NorthwestTwinsFan]

Rocco's bullpen decisions so far this season = not good.

[Hosken Bombo Disco]

Odorizzi with a total melt down. That's the second time this season he's completely lost the strike zone.

Yup.

[PDX Twin]

OK. I'm officially on the sack Baldelli bandwagon. That was a dunce move with huge cost.

[Tibs]

Why did the Twins bring in the guy who just showed up this afternoon over Taylor Rogers with the bases loaded?

[David HK]

OK, show of hands.

Who else besides me shouted "no-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o!" when Rocco brought in the kid instead of the vet in that situation?

And Jake....

Sheesh.............

[FlauerPauer]

Why bring in Vasquez here?  Dumb move.

[twinssporto]

Jerk him now!!!!

[wsnydes]

This is working out swimmingly.

[Hosken Bombo Disco]

Vazquez makes Odorizzi look like pinpoint accuracy.

[John Kelsey]

This was a really dumb move and it's costing them.

[ScrapTheNickname]

Well crud...

Much worse than crud.

[bighat]

Awful! Unforgiveable!

[bighat]

Have to pull Vazquez. Situation is too big for him.

Should have never brought him in in the first place. Unreal.

[h2oface]

It's one thing to have a team beat you. But Baldy just gives up the game with this unexpainable move. What is he thinking????????

[yarnivek1972]

Vasquez’ control (or lack thereof) doesn’t play at the MLB level. It might get AAA hitters to swing and miss. MLB hitters are far more discerning.

[Whammy]

Rocco's bullpen decisions so far this season = not good.

In Rocco's defense, it wouldn't been hard to anticipate the complete and total meltdown by Odorizzi. Getting Vasquez warm was a backup plan that hard to seem unlikely.

[ScrapTheNickname]

5 straight free passes and yet we're in the game. Let's cross our fingers that a Mets hitter makes a mistake and swings.

[twins_89]

Some extremely bad managing this inning. Baldelli let Odorizzi stay in way too long when it was clear he'd lost it and then throwing Vasquez out there was a very bad decision.

[operation mindcrime]

How embarrassing!!!

[Hosken Bombo Disco]

Where is Chase DeJonge when you need him

[NorthwestTwinsFan]

Twins front office tried to get too cute with their Manger hiring.  Isn't paying off so far.

[Don Walcott]

Throw the new kid right into the fire. Gutsy move

If by “gutsy,” you mean “reckless,” I concur.

[Danchat]

Vasquez can't hit the side of a barn, either. The lefty-lefty matchup made sense, but yikes. He can't hit the strike zone to save his life.

[h2oface]

11 pitches ... 2 strikes....

[twinssporto]

Such a stupid managerial move. That's inexperience plain and simple.  Going forward at least until July 31st, Rocco needs to manage by Game Thread input only.  I'll call Pohlad right now.

Does either team know how to baseball?

[bighat]

Don't understand leaving Vasquez in. He can't do this.

Everyone in the stadium knows he's going to walk him. We know he's going to walk him. The Mets know it. The Twins know it.

What is happening? Why?
