Hopefully you could hear me through this post. It was my best Robin William's impersonation. Lot's to be excited about this morning: 1. Mauer's walk-off homer last night to beat the Red Sox, wow! 2. The Twins in first place in May, excellent.3. Getting on a small fishing boat this morning to try and win the annual Ron Schara Minnesota Bound Crappie Tournament on Lake Minnetonka.4. I will have my 1,000 post on Twins Daily today! As I casually mentioned last night during a Game Thread post, please cheer me on today during the crappie tournament. I will share pictures and any winnings with the Twins Daily Game Thread posters today if I place in the top three. I know everyone will be waiting with baited breath on the results so I will try to keep you updated from the boat. Make sure to also cheer on Mr. Tepesch today. He is making his first start as a Twin today against a very good Red Sox team. Gotta run now and try to catch some big fish. I won't get off the lake until noon or so but will try to post the lineup before game time. Go Twins! Game time weather: Sunny and 63 degrees. Winds light and variable.
Linus Verified Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Should be a fantastic day at target field. I'm guessing we get to see Adrianza for the first time. Hopefully Buck is back out there - I think Tepesch might need him.
notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 I hope Boston plays Josh Rutledge, the sixth year rookie, today.
spinowner Provisional Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 I won't be at the game or the game thread today so I'll post now--here's hoping our favorite team's run of mostly competence can continue!
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Looks like you have much better weather for fishing than the last time!

Hopefully Buck is back out there - I think Tepesch might need him. I would rest both Buxton and Dozier today so I have a better chance of playing them Sunday when you need RH against Sale. If I was Molitor... I'd load up on LH hitters today in prep of going as RH hitter as possible on Sunday. VS. PORCELLO MAUER 1BGROSSMAN RFSANO 3BVARGAS DHROSARIO LFESCOBAR 2BKEPLER CFCASTRO CADRIANAZA SS VS. Halsey Hall Verified Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Good luck fishing, that should be a blast! Mauer goes deep two days in a row, who'd a thunk it?

Blake Verified Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Good luck fishing, that should be a blast! Mauer goes deep two days in a row, who'd a thunk it?Mauer did the "little kid fantasy" walk off. Bottom of the ninth, two outs, two strikes. I'm still in shock over that one.

Halsey Hall Verified Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 I'm still peeved that Hughes didn't get the win, even with the finish.

Guest Guests Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Terrible fishing pun. For shame....Good luck in your tournamentDo you mean like "have crappie luck at your good tournament"?
amjgt Verified Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 I think I'd mix up the 6-9 guys (Rosario, Esco, Polanco, Castro), but overall, I mostly like the lineup. ---- This assumes Dozier is available to PH, but not play 2B ----
Circus Boy Verified Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Mauer did the "little kid fantasy" walk off. Bottom of the ninth, two outs, two strikes. I'm still in shock over that one. Yep. All I could think of was Bill Murray's monologue... "former greenskeeper, now, about to become the Masters Champion. [swings...] It looks like a mirac- It's in the hole! It's in the hole!"
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 I'm on the lookout for my DFA slip today since I'm no longer considered a prospect... Celebrating 27 with a crawfish boil/open bar, along with pizza and bar hopping later tonight. Have a great day everyone!
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Happy Birthday, van! I don't even remember 27, but hey, maybe you won't either if you celebrate properly!

Pardon My Dinger Verified Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Might miss the start of today's game. Gotta go get some new basketball shoes. Anyone have $500 they can lend me?
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 I would have given Adrianaza a start instead of tomorrow when he would have to dial in against Sale... otherwise... these are guys I would have went with. I also would have moved Rosario up to the 5 spot because he is hot right now. Fingers crossed that Dozier and Buxton will both be healthy enough to go get em tomorrow.

Maybe next time.

Fingers crossed that Dozier and Buxton will both be healthy enough to go get em tomorrow. Agreed. Rosario has earned it. I hope they are just being extra careful with Buck. Just as he was starting to find his groove, he gets hurt, I hope to the almighty tenth degree, that this does not cause him a set back and halts his progress. When the guy is on top of his game, he is one of the most exciting players to watch play. It's more exciting to me than watching Sano and that is saying a lot.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Anyone a little concerned Buxton isn't in the lineup for a 2nd day in a row? Or maybe just making sure he's well and rested?
