Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Polanco gets a big assist on that crooked number
bighat Verified Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Welp, that's ball game. Too bad for all those fans at Target Field on this gorgeous day!
Kwak Verified Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Polanco gets a big assist on that crooked numberI'm curious to learn why with Dozier out and Adrianza up, he isn't at SS and Polanco at 2B?
ashbury Verified Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Polanco gets a big assist on that crooked numberTepesch, like most pitchers, doesn't have enough margin for error to survive shabby defense behind him.
Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Very talented but he was too all or nothing during his career. After he left Arizona... It became a couple years of nothing and very little all and he has been seen as a backup ever since. Chris Young could be the best 4th OFer in baseball. When he stepped to the plate, I thought, damn this dude is due for an HR. Presto Magic - HR. F my thoughts - sad start to the game. Twins offense needs to respond ASAP!
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Good thing they didn't call up Berrios, lord knows that he couldn't be as good as AAAA tespech!
crapforks Provisional Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Always crummy to get a chance to watch a game from beginning to end and have it be a blowout. Oh well, makes for good background noise while doing chores, I suppose.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Well, we'll likely be seeing Drew Rucinski today... if anyone was interested in seeing him.
Darius Verified Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 I get the error happened....but this is why you don't dink around and bring up Nick freaking Tepisch to start games for you. Teams finish 1-2 games out of the playoffs every year. You can always look back and see some boneheaded decision like this one.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Jack Morris has no reason to keep blaming this farce on Polanco's boot. Tepesch has been hanging balls up in the zone like piñatas. Boston's players love to smash piñatas.
Circus Boy Verified Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Is this any way to treat the First-Place Minnesota Twins ? Boston's players should be ashamed of themselves.
Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 I'm curious to learn why with Dozier out and Adrianza up, he isn't at SS and Polanco at 2B?They want to grind Polanco out at SS. It is the right thing to do if he can stay there for awhile - the Twins need to know this. Also, today is a offense needed day. Polanco can hit, Escobar can hit. Adrianza not so much.
jud6312 Verified Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Error or not, this was going to happen. Tepesch is just not good. And I'd be surprised to see Rucinski stop the bleeding.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 I'm curious to learn why with Dozier out and Adrianza up, he isn't at SS and Polanco at 2B? Escobar is swinging a good bat... I'd play him. But Adrianaza made it town... he had a night of sleep in the hotel. He got some breakfast... took BP and stuff. Polanco hasn't been on fire lately. Tepesch could use a couple of top notch defenders to help him out. And Sale starts tomorrow so I would have given Adrianaza the start over Polanco. But Oh Well.. I never take myself seriously enough to be serious about it.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Have a good afternoon everyone. This game is over.
bighat Verified Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Geez, did the inning end yet? Looked away at 4-0 now I see it's 7-0. Good grief!
ashbury Verified Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 I just remembered some chores I need to do, in preference to suffering more of this. Cleaning the storage, organizing the catbox, raking the laundry, folding the lawn, and so forth. I will check in later and see if things have gotten better. / edit - ninja'd by cf
jud6312 Verified Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Goodness. This is incredibly unbelievable. I can't believe Nick Tepesch and Drew Rucinski are unable to get major league hitters out. Who saw this coming?
bighat Verified Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Rucinski not looking very interesting here. GET AN OUT, DUDE!
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Tepesch, like most pitchers, doesn't have enough margin for error to survive shabby defense behind him. Nope Polanco makes that play... Tepesch is in the dugout with only 1 run allowed. Maybe he gets killed in the third... maybe he doesn't. We won't know now.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Luckily, most of America is blithely unaware of this tragedy.
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Well give some guys a day off after all and come back against Sale tomorrow. Empty the bench! Wait....
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Look, I get Polanco's error really screwed things up, but the Red Sox were going to get these 7 hits either way. This is what happens when you use AAAA pitching... except it's more like AAA pitching.
Blake Verified Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Chris Young could be the best 4th OFer in baseball. When he stepped to the plate, I thought, damn this dude is due for an HR. Presto Magic - HR. F my thoughts - sad start to the game. Twins offense needs to respond ASAP!Well, the Twins sort of need to bat at some point in order to make up a few runs.
drivlikejehu Verified Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 The pitcher is still responsible for getting guys out after an error. Tepesch looked terrible, period.
Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Well, the Twins sort of need to bat at some point in order to make up a few runs. The score was half of what it is now when I posted. I am not a big Porcello fan, but it would be shocking if this game isn't in the bag.
AZTwin Verified Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 We almost saw every batter in bostons lineup score a run that inning. That's kind of neat
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 "...put a snowman up there on the board..." Okay, that was good. 8 is a snowman.
