You can bid online on "Favorite Things" baskets from various Twins players through the 7th inning of the Twins game on August 13th. Items will be available in the ballpark at that time to pick up for the winning bidder.

If you didn't already love Max Kepler, here is another reason to do so - most of the items in his Favorite Things Basket are beer!

yeah, after reading the title of this thread, I completely thought this post was about something else.

Lack of an apostrophe can make a world of difference.

Ok guys, we've all graduated high school, and most of us have been out for quite some time.  I know we all have dirty minds, but let's check that here and now as we really don't need to advertise it, especially since there are women who read and post on these forums.

This is a good cause being run by the Twins wives, we really don't need to pollute it with everyone admitting that they are still effectively a mental teenager.

Does Molitor's "Favorite Things" basket include Danny Santana?  And the "bunt" sign? :)

Dang! I was gonna go with 'bundt cake'...

I was hoping to pick up an autographed Ricky Nolasco beard trimmer on the cheap, but alas that's not a part of his basket and the bid is already up to $350 anyway.

Oh.  That kind of auction ...

My mind was in the same gutter as yours when I clicked on the thread.

We're probably better off this way anyway.  I know that I'd never be able to afford to outbid a MLB player for his wife.

In all seriousness though, I always look forward to these.  I've never won anything, but it's always neat to see what they have.  I usually stop and browse when they have tables or a booth set up in the concourses at Target Field as well.  They usually have a pretty good collection of stuff for all of their fundraisers.

Um, Max, where is the Franziskaner?

I mean Erdinger is good too, but when I think German beer, I think Franziskaner

I'm very impressed by some of these ... and some really give you a glimpse of an interest or two outside of baseball. Centeno's basket is filled with fishing stuff; Hughes' cooking stuff ... real cooking stuff; Gibson's grilling/bbq things. I just find it interesting.

Also wonder if maybe the $350 is the minimum bid on these things.

Maybe the Hector Santiago basket has a beard trimmer?  Perhaps if you agreed to pay for a portion of Nolasco's basket, and send along Alex Meyer's basket (complete with "shoulder lotion"), you could get Santiago's instead?

Yes, I stretched the truth to be kind to Ricky - the page shows 0 bids currently for his basket.

I wonder if guys who get traded wind up doing some level of double duty with charitable efforts for both teams in the month or two around the trade.

The contents of Molitor's are a pretty interesting collection  - a Hammermade dress shirt, a Hazeltine hat from the upcoming Ryder Cup, the books "All the Light We Cannot See" and "The Martian," a 20 piece grilling set, Springsteen CDs, a leather-covered cooler, tennis shoes, golf balls, a backpack along with a number of autographed items. Up to $675 currently.

Yeah ... that's about when I made the post that looking at the contents of some of these are pretty interesting. Not sure it's a true glimpse 'inside' but it's still interesting. Suzuki's has a pretty Hawaiian theme to it ... ukelele and all. Still haven't yet decided if I'll bid on it ... I might, though.

The Gibson painting could hang on my wall!

Hanging's too good for it, it's already been drawn and needs to be quartered.

Brian Dozier really likes his own autograph!

IMO, Some of these offer the glimpse: I have no real outside interests.......

edit:

Some clearly offer real insight into what they like, though. I like those baskets more. Yay for May!

Kyle Gibson, Trevor May, Kepler, Hughes, Kintzler (got that Nike golf clearance going.....), Rogers.....those are my faves.

For the right price and cause, you can get Brian Dozier to autograph anything!

- Autographed ticket stub

- Autographed Media Guide

- Autographed baby

He'll even write out his name in spaghetti!

Pretty disappointed Kemp's Ice Cream is not included in Joe Mauer's basket. Is he no longer the face of Kemp's?

Or a car from Mauer Chevrolet (is it Chevy?). I'd bid at least 1000 for the right Chevy.

This is a great charity, I hope they make a lot of money.

Is it really? Haven't done my research; might really have to bid on that ukelele now. Seriously. I don't mind giving money to good charities.
