Remember when we had ben revere he was like dynamite imagine if we had byron buxton aaron hicks and ben revere on the same team eddie rosario can be dh he is fast and has enough power

Rosario's defense at DH certainly would be an upgrade over Sano.

Talk about a small sample size!

So let me get this straight.

You would prefer having Revere on the team over Sano? Because that is how it has been presented with Rosario taking over the DH spot over Sano. And let's be clear Sano is the DH for the rest of this season, not 3B, 1B or any other position.

While a speedy outfield is always a plus, the Twins have moved past Revere in any defensive plans. Rosario seems to be doing just fine in left and appears to have more power than Revere. Besides, if there are too many speedy outfielders, it will only lead to an increased risk of Buxton running into someone and sustaining another concussion.

Perhaps a return to the drawing board is in order?

Before it gets too rough, I'd like to say welcome to Twins Daily and regardless of any pushback, keep posting. New members are always a plus.

OF offense and defense doesn't appear to be a need at this time though.

This was Bulldog's second post, so let's be tolerant.  In the abstract, having a very fast outfield would be cool, and maybe he was thinking about Sano at 3B.

If Revere could get an arm transplant, this would be a good idea.

If the donor was Raul Mondesi, this could be a GREAT idea!

Problem is Mondesi is right-handed, so Revere's new left thumb will be on the outside of his throwing hand.....So let's downgrade the idea back to "good".

I remember when he was traded for Trevor May and Vance Worley.  Right now, I'm quite happy with that trade, even though Vanimal didn't quite work out.

The Vanimal half of that trade actually went quite well! After a somewhat lackluster career here we were able to trade him to Pittsburgh for cash! You can never have too much cash! Just think how much better the Twins would be if we had traded JJ Hardy for cash.

I thought it was a very good trade, a weak armed singles hitting outfielder for two young pitchers with a lot of potential. May is proving that and Worley had been high in the Nat. league rookie of the year voting, it just didn't work out.  A combo of him not wanting to be here, not putting in the work, and the Twins giving up on him too soon, it just didn't work.

I'd do the trade again in a heartbeat.

The Twins showed how bad their pitching coaching had become with Worley. He has played well everywhere BUT here. The front office gave him away for nothing. Having another starter with an ERA under 3.50 would sure be nice.

Ben Revere is a 2 1/2 tool player. Run? Yes. Catch? Yes. Throw? No. Hit? Yes, but only singles. Hit for power? No.

He's very good at what he's good at but he's very bad (by major league standards) at what he's not good at.

Young talent? Even with Mauer and Plouffe (and even Suzuki for that matter), it's very possible their opening day lineup in 2016 will have an average age of about 26 and conceivably get younger throughout the season

In 5 years Ben Revere will not be young.  He will be 32 or 33 years old.  And for players who's main attribute is speed, age is usually not a good thing.  Maybe he will be able to sustain a long career as a singles hitter, but once that speed goes his career may quickly go as well.

Again, I urge people to be tolerant with first time posters who are just learning the culture here.

That's exactly why I wanted Revere off the team ASAP. He's fun to watch but when he goes downhill, it's going to resemble a lawn dart.
