  1. You may be right, but I hope not.
  2. Zach Jones himself is "someone useful" and if he isn't lost in rule5, he will remain in the Twins organization.
  3. With the exception of VALUED MLB players or prospects, the vast majority of players in EVERY organization are NOT traded, but are released or "they just...walk away and sign elsewhere". When a player is no longer considered a "player" or a "prospect", he becomes a "JAG". (just a guy) It is the normal MLB "circle of life".
  4. A Danny V homecoming would be in Miami.
  5. Starting player - his salary + his future worth = Prospect - his salary+ his future worth
  6. Yes, I still consider you a baseball expert. Just remember that Mark McGuire is taller. (and uglier)
  7. I know that I have premature Alzheimer's, but I thought that Jed Lowrie and Bret Lawrie were one person. I hope their parents figured it out before I did.
  8. IMO, he should have been protected rather than Pat Dean. Maybe the Twins were afraid to give ZachJones any more time to regain his fastball due to a bad case of Mikepelfreyphobia.
  9. That's true. I hope the Twins ARE privy to the medical consequences of his circulatory issues. If the issues can be corrected, and Jones is throwing 100 mph again for another team; the six pitchers that the Twins DID protect, had better pitch well enough to divert attention from Jones.
  10. I wish we could order more Zach-Jones-clones. Maybe Amazon.com stocks them.
  11. He ended 2015 at Fort Myers with 0.97 WHIP, 2.19 ERA, 38 K in 24.2 IP; K/9IP=13.86 Injuries have often been known to heal for 24-yr-olds. At my age, not so much.
  12. I hope that Zach Jones is bypassed, but IMO he is likely to be the only one lost.
  13. If I recall what teachers used to earn, THAT refund is NOT in the works.
  14. If the 2015 Rule5 draft parallels the 2014 draft (and that may be highly unlikely) the following numbers in various categories of players will be drafted. Starting Pitchers with strong arms - 3 Relief Pitchers with control issues - 3 Finesse Pitchers with good control - 3 Catchers - 1 Infielders - 2 Outfielders - 2 Total - 14 Using this link: http://www.baseballa...names-remember/.. the category in which Zach Jones fits (Relief Pitchers with control issues) had only three pitchers drafted last year. Their were 15 such pitchers listed in the website above. So, using very shaky theory, the odds of Zach Jones being drafted (in a parallel draft to 2014) would be ROUGHLY three out of 15, or 20%. That is comforting for those of us who wish to maintain Zach Jones in the Twins organization. Please don't send this to my ex-teachers or ex-bosses. They may want my diplomas, degrees and pay-checks returned.
  15. That list has 46 players and only 14 were selected last year. If all players were equal, we would have about a 50% chance of escaping unharmed.
  16. I th You may have mixed up Glavine with Smoltz, which is OK. But you also mixed up Mark McGuire with Heather Locklear and THAT IS A PROBLEM!!
  17. The real key is whether GM's dig the long ball.
  18. Rumor is that he keeps answering the phone, but it's not ringing.
  19. A Plouffe for Gott (plus?) trade with the Angels would create a few reunions. Plouffe went to Crespi HS in SoCal. Gott is a Kentucky Wildcat, as are Alex Meyer, Logan Darnell, Taylor Rogers and Kyle Cody (crap!). OK. Substitute Nick Burdi (Louisville) for Kyle Cody (unsigned 2nd round draft choice).
  20. Some of these ageing shortstops may be future 3B. Joaquin Arias (31) Mike Aviles (35) Clint Barmes (37) Willie Bloomquist (38) Asdrubal Cabrera (30) Ian Desmond (30) Stephen Drew (33) Alexei Ramirez (34) Jimmy Rollins (37)
  21. If the Twins make the trade with the Angels, we will have Gott no Plouffe at all.
  22. Baseball America 2015 rates the Twins' farm system #2 and Angels' farm system #27 (not worst, ahead of Orioles, Braves and Tigers). And this is their job.
  23. What everyone forgets that the list of FA 3B actually includes many from the list of FA SS, who have aged themselves out of that position.
  24. Freese is a Free Agent.
  25. ..started by the Twins
