Game Recap: Cleveland 5, Twins 3

Did Rocco get dropped on his head? Early Alheimer's? "Game on line. Who should I bring in? The guy who loses the game EVERY TIME he pitches? Or any other pitcher? Hmm. I'll bring in Alexander the Great. I'm sure it will work out."

Ron Davis says Colome is deserving of more tries.

Matt Capps is thinking of making a come-back as the Twins closer. "I was bad, but nowhere as bad as this guy."

Broken.  Is there any part of this team that isn't broken right now?

Time to think about postponing the development of Ober or Duran as a starter and add one of them to the bullpen? Really no other option other than sticking with Colume or bumping everyone up, which exposes guys we don’t want to be pitching in leverage. What a mess.

But none of it matters if they don’t start hitting. You can’t expect to win games scoring 0-3 runs every single game. Even with a solid bullpen, you’re talking about...realistically...4-10 (instead of 2-12) in the last 14 games. Results would still be catastrophic. There is zero basis to expect that the Twins will score a run in any late inning, when they consistently fail to score in the 10th.

It's fair to say it's time to panic. I'm done trying to be reasonable and listen to everyone telling me that it's still April. Yeah, it's April (almost May 1st but OK), the games count and the Twins are the worst team in baseball thus far. They've won SEVEN games! Seven!

They don't look like a good team that's snakebit. They look plum terrible. There is nobody waiting in the wings to save them on offense, Kepler and Sano were actually hurting this team on offense (can't believe that's possible at this point but it's true). The bullpen is awful from top to bottom. No help on the way.

Change of subject: This lineup batted a collective 5/34 (yes, that's .147, folks) with a walk today.

The club has scored an average 2.8 runs in the past 10 games. At an average of 4.0 the Twins would be in a completely different place. Not even finished with April and it is getting late.

The main drawback of being a Minnesota sports fan are the Minnesota sports teams.

I’ve seen some speculation that Rocco was intending to remove him, with Berrios lobbying to stay in — then the lobbying was for naught when they were reminded of the rule.

Seth suggested that Rocco bought time for a few more warmup pitches for Robles.

No official story that I have seen yet.

Watching it, he absolutely meant to leave him in the game. Which would have been the right decision IMO. They’ll spin it. As will the local media.

The majority of Twittersphere seems to agree with my take...(which causes me to doubt myself).

I've long believed no team is as good as it looks when it's winning, or as bad as it looks when it's losing.

This bunch is proving the last half of that "saying" a lie.

Take a sip, but don't jump - it is still April. Bad baseball often happens in April. This year it was our turn. I'm still optimistic but there are some real concerns.

Only fix is to fire Baldelli and bring Rowson in.  He has a chance of at least fixing the hitting.  Something is off.  It usually starts with the manager.
