Jorge Polanco was placed on the injured list on April 15 with a right wrist contusion as well as left Achilles bursitis. He was scheduled to play for Triple-A Syracuse before returning to the majors, but the Mets have instead decided to proceed with further evaluation of the ankle in New York.

The 32-year-old switch-hitting Polanco, who signed a two-year, $40 million contract in the offseason to be the team's replacement for Pete Alonso, has appeared in just 14 games for the Mets and is hitting .179 with a home run and two RBIs.

He's putrid.  Real shocker NYM signed him to an idiotic $40 million contract.  Probably one of the top 10 worst  signings in MLB.

Long-time teammates Kepler and Polanco both had news yesterday. Jorge is an "old 32" to me and Max never took the next step.

What was Kepler's bad news? I assumed that coming back from his suspension and getting signed again would be a good thing for him.

I wouldn't put Polanco in the putrid category at all. When he's healthy he's a valuable player, But he certainly is injury-prone and his current salary seems a huge overpay.

Didn’t say it was bad news for Kepler.

Randy Dobnak has triggered is opt out clock. Looking at his AAA numbers, I’m not sure why unless he already knows another team is willing to give him a roster shot

Sim W-R pitched for the Jays against the Phillies. 4 IP, 1 H, 0 BB, 3 Ks.

Toronto is getting some work out of him in the bullpen.  It seems weird to me that the Twins wouldn't have tried that approach also, I mean he was already on the squad and its not like the Twins have some lock down bullpen, im pretty sure they could have gotten some regular BP innings out of him.  Im almost wondering if Simeon just wanted out of Minnesota and since its realistically a rebuild season, (even though they say they are in win now mode), maybe thats why they just let him go for potentially some cash?  I mean, "if" he didnt want to be in Minnesota, then why force him especially since its basically a start over anyway?  These are just my thoughts on why they'd just let a 25 year old pitcher go?
