  1. Good point. I think if Buxton is healthy enough to bat he is also healthy enough to play in the outfield, whether that is in center field or in one of the corners. I just think giving him DH only duties diminishes his value to the team.
  2. Two of the most impactful bats in the Twins lineup are Clemens and Lee, and neither has an OBP north of .300. That will have to improve as both hitters are closer to Rougned Odor .... Yikes! That comparison says a lot, and not in a positive way.
  3. Yes, yes, yes. Let him play more innings and get more of an idea of what he can do for the team. It's unlikely we see Jeffers back next season and we WILL need some competent catchers.
  4. Since July 30th, Adrian Bohorquez has tossed 36 innings over eight games. He has given up three earned runs on 13 hits and 14 walks and 41 strikeouts. In that stretch, the 21-year-old Venezuelan is 2-1 with a 0.75 ERA, a 0.75 WHIP and 10.25 K/9. He's having a terrific end to the season. How legitimate is he as a prospect?
  5. I hope the Twins do NOT try and trade Lopez. Good pitcher, good character, good influence on his teammates, and he will be most eager to come back from his injury and contribute next season. He is a keeper. But yeah, I think it made sense to try and trade Ryan. He was coming off another excellent first half but showing signs that he most likely won't sign an extension with the Twins. Trade him while he still has some value. I can't foresee any scenario where he is pitching for the Twins two years from now.
  6. Exactly. I could care less about players being stoic and composed, I want to see unabashed energy and enthusiasm!
  7. Most definitely! I needed to smile after a hard day at work and his reaction to his home run, plus the interview (with the assistance from the wonderful Pablo Lopez!) was a huge feel-good moment.
  8. Interesting list, but if they are all healthy, I expect Abel, Mathews, and Prielipp in the starting rotation, and even Rojas at some point. I still don't see a scenario where we keep Joe Ryan next season, assuming there really will be a next season. Feeling very pessimistic lately.
  9. Very cool story. I never heard that one before. Good to know that Thomas and Cuddyer have stayed in touch.
  10. Keep them all on ice until next season starts ... hopefully by June or July.
  11. Very good article. I enjoy reading about these types of "fringe" pitchers and how they are adapting and trying to hone their arsenal of pitches in order to become more valuable players. Interesting stuff.
  12. A few more timely hits would be nice too. At this point I'm focusing more on the lottery odds!
  13. Well, his value might be slightly higher after a fairly productive second half, but it appears like he is slipping again this month. Not sure what sort of value he has at this point, nor am I sure how much value he has for the Twins going forward. I think we could be doing the free agent tango for a first baseman again next season, if there is one.
