  1. Ha! Thanks for that correction. That is indeed what I meant.
  2. Oh, man, my old baseball card collection has come alive again reading some of those names. Thank you!
  3. Good memories. Belanger was indeed a slick fielder. But Paul Blair was the outfielder you mentioned. Another plus-glove.
  4. That's the elephant in the room. The "cratering" of both players this season, especially so drastically, is alarming. But yeah, not much trade value for either at this point.
  5. Good article, Jamie. If Culpepper continues to perform as well has has been doing thus far (although it's still early in the season), do we see him as a late season call-up this year? Or even earlier?
  6. Very good point. While we would love to have the likes of Duran, Jax and Varland in the bullpen this season, we DID get back some pretty good players in return. Some of those players (such as Tait) may take another year or two to contribute, but it wasn't a total disaster. If pitchers like Bradley, Abel, and Rojas can stay healthy, we may come out looking pretty darn good before the dust settles.
  7. So, we picked up Garcia a week ago (albeit in a trade as opposed to our usual scrap pile waiver claims), and now he might be our new closer? Hmm ... let's wait a few more weeks, at least. But as others pointed out, it is refreshing that he is a younger pitcher and not another vet on the wrong side of 30. Maybe he will use that sweeper to devastating effect. Let's hope so.
  8. I still have faith in Keaschall, and I was hopeful that Lewis would finally stay healthy find his feet this season, but obviously this has been a dismal season for him so far. Is there hope? I honestly don't know. As for Lee, I was about ready to write him off as one of those highly touted college players that couldn't quite figure out MLB, but I'm becoming more inclined to think that he CAN be a productive player in the majors, but perhaps not as a shortstop.
  9. Thanks for another thorough and information minor league report. Love this stuff. But I still can't get over the fact that there is a team called The Sod Poodles.
  10. Speaking of ex-Twins on the Dodgers, what's the status on Graterol this season? Is he healthy and pitching again?
  11. Man, I need to read these posts more often. I had no idea that Twins had even let Wagaman go, not to mention Kent too. Eh, no great loss, but I'm still shocked at how fast these DFA'd players come and go.
  12. Well, injuries are part of the game, but this is beyond depressing. I was really pumped about having Bradley on the Twins and so far he's justified my faith, so this injury is obviously disappointing. I was (honestly) hopeful that the Twins would be competitive this season, but that's looking like a total pipe dream at this point. Right now I would be willing to trade any and every healthy player on the roster for prospects and just do a complete rebuild. This team ain't going anywhere but down this season.
  13. I was one of (many) fans that were eager for the Twins to get rid of Larnach over the off-season. Trade him for something/anything, but just let the go somewhere else. But this is one of the "eat my words" cases and Larnach has bounced back much better than I would have expected. But as for Wallner .... is there any hope there?
  14. An insanely strange but pleasing game. The Twins can only manage 2 hits in 11 innings (thank you, Mr. Buxton) but manage to win the game?! I'm still in shock. And the bullpen allowed zero runs?! I hope this win doesn't use up the rest of our luck for the season.
  15. The merry-go-round continues. It's not like we expected much else in the way of transactions this season, so I can't worry too much about it all. Keep on claiming these guys and hope that maybe one or two are stable enough to provide some upside before the season is over.
