Eduard Julien made the Rockies. Jose Miranda on a MiLB contract was re-assigned to the Padres AAA affiliate.

However both had an OPS over .900 this spring and I'm cheering for them. If for no other reason than if they find success elsewhere, just maybe we can reverse engineer what exactly it is the Twins are doing wrong with their hitting prospects.

Guzman had a few good seasons with the Twins. Didn't he lead the league in triples one year?

Yup, 3 times 2000 (20), 2001 (14) and 2003 (14)

edit to add number of triples and to say…. I’d kill for an early aughts young Cristian Guzman type playing SS for this team… :(

Anybody else watching the Twins broadcast when Tom Kelly mentioned that Guzman first hurt his shoulder lifting his luggage at the all star game?

The beginning of the end for him.

Not sure if minor leaguers count in this thread but the Reds Optioned INF Christian Encarnacion-Strand and RHP Chase Petty to Louisville (

I haven't seen much talk about how well the Sonny Gray trade aged for the Twins. That's why you don't trade two years of control of a very good starting pitcher for a single pitching prospect, even for a top-of-the-line starter prospect.

Petty is only 22 plenty of time for that to change.

I was curious to see where the Dobber went. Randy Dobnak is on Seattle's AAA roster to start the year. This was supposed to be Dobnak's first "team-friendly" option year of $6 million when Falvey recklessly signed him to the extension after 3 weeks of spring training results.

Julien to be another X Twin to win NL Batting title in Colorado

Of course, but if we had the foreknowledge to know that it would 5 or more years for Petty to make any kind of positive impact on the roster, you move him for a legit starter.

If in 2019 I were to have made a list of players I never thought would still be in the majors on their 35th birthday, Perez would have topped the list.

I still might be right, looks like his birthday is Saturday. Good luck on your Tuesday start Martin!

The Reds have DFA'd Christian Encarnacion-Strand. The Twins are now free to (half) remedy one this site's most mourned trades. As a right handed first baseman, he could really give Kody Clemens a run for his money in the On Base Percentage department.

Seriously, not serious.
