Ponderables before the game.

With Wallner and Buxton back, are we complete again?

I like this tying the game in the 9th thing. Will it play better at home? (though i had mixed feelings about yesterday. Complete games are so rare these days, and if we were going to lose anyway...)

Will the crowds seem bigger in a smaller stadium? And how much foul teritory does the new place have?

With the torpedo bats why aren't there more Hunt for Red October references? Come to think of it, why don't people quote Sean Connery more often?

What to do while waiting for a late game to start... (for me, i'm glad they are waiting until after my rehearsal to start)

Anyway... I hope we win.

In general I've heard Sacramento's ballpark referred to as hitter friendly. Is there actually any evidence of that? It seems that it's just gotten lumped into the "PCL Bandbox" category, but it seems to me that the most likely scenario is that the A's offense is OK and their pitching stinks.

The actual factors that go into a ballpark being hitter friendly look pretty neutral to me.

Elevation: 26ft above see level - Hitter unfriendly

Humidity: Higher average summer humidity than most other western baseball locations. Similar to Minneapolis - Hitter unfriendly

Temperature: Warm. Wamer than most in the first few months, but levels off and likely lower than 1/4 of the MLB ballparks over the summer - Hitter Neutral probably, but perhaps boosted the first few months compared to colder midwest and eastern cities.

OF dimensions:  The look a little smaller than average - Hitter Friendly

Foul Territory dimensions: Not sure (gotta be smaller than Oakland though 🙂 )

It may be 95 degrees Thursday but the heat index will only be 94.

I honestly like what Rocco is trying to do with tonight's lineup. No need to DH Jeffers as he's in a rut.  Let Royce sit until a plan is in place.  Bader can PR for speed or sub in for defense later. Castro France Clemens is a fine mix for 6 7 8.  Look at those averages.. everyone over .200!

Let's go y'all

They need to develop a plan with Lewis, they can't let it drag out.  Either play him here or in St. Paul or if he is hurt put him on the IL.  Regardless of his performance since the last half of the year, he is a player they should be able to count on and need to get him right.  Bouncing him in and out of the lineup is not going to solve this problem.  If he flames out this is a huge black eye on this organization to not develop him.

Mr. Lewis can come in off the bench.

That'll get him out of his funk, just like it worked for Margot.

He's my new favorite.

He can bring Lambchop out to the plate with him, (This is an old person joke.)

Sutter Health Park has a total seating capacity of 14,014. This includes 10,624 permanent seats, along with additional lawn seating on the grass berms in right and left field. ---  Gotta be strange for the A,-- TEAM Wonder if they now average more than they did in Oakland ?   Left: 330 ft - Center: 403 ft  Right: 325 ft (  Gotta be smaller Foul ball area than Oaktown had,   Mr, Lewis  you get the road trip  or your next home will be  seating  like tonights

Sherry Lewis, as in he’s hitting like Sherry Lewis?

Probably Sheri Lewis would have a better OPS.

Tiggers just demolishing the Why Sox. It's just how they're going to be this year. (Either)

So we can't count on DET to start a TC like meltdown when the calendar hits 8/1?

That's going to make things difficult.

Is it too much to ask for the Twins to get off to a 14-0 lead by the 2nd inning so we can all go to bed satisfied?

And leave the game up to Alcala and Funderburk?  Are you mad???
