Twins Hitters OPS+ (min 50 plate appearances)

Wallner 138

Lee 119

France 110

Jeffers 108

Buxton 108

Bader 104

I agree with those who dislike seeing all the AAAA players in the lineup.  Problem is right now there are a LOT of AAAA players on the roster.

Heck, many here thought Lee and France were not deserving of roster spots coming out of spring training.  Yet...with Wallner hurt, they are currently our two most productive hitters.

It's a bad squad of position players right now.  Really bad.  Exceptionally good pitching and getting all of our injured players healthy for the duration of the year (both slim hopes) could save the season, but the position players we are currently rostering are a major weakness.  We can rail against Rocco (which I do too), but he has almost nothing but bad and underperforming options right now to fill out the lineup card.  Blame really should go to the FO.

Apparently some of us don't see a sarcastic post when read. I think everyone knows scouts and coaches don't want pitches thrown down the middle. My point was don't keep throwing the same pitch again and again until you make a mistake.

Cleveland doesn’t need this kind of help to beat us.

Relative accuracy +0.7%, meaning the umpire was better than average. Only 3 pitches in the entire game were miscalled within human error limits. I generally give a pass to balls which were literally on the line.

The internet doesn't work for sarcasm. Too many idiots who say something stupid and are completely serious about it.

. I think Rocco needs 12 wins in May to keep his job.

I think his job is safe with 2 wins.

Our owner's are so cheap, no way they are paying two managers at the same time.

They wouldn't hire an outside manager; they'd just promote Tingler or Conger or someone else already on staff. Doesn't mean they're going to fire Rocco, but there's not a lot of managers just sitting around at home waiting for jobs even if they do. The point is that they wouldn't have to pay 2 managers, they'd just shift roles on the current staff. Much like they did with the front office this offseason with DSP leaving and Falvey taking over the business side, too.

Even if the Twins look outside the org, which they won’t do, I imagine the conversation going something like this…

He was just missing the bottom of the zone for a stretch. I've worked with Malachi. Good man from what I could tell. Just had a bit of a bad day at work.

Some umpires ARE, as Peter would like to say, scumbags. Malachi is not one of those men to my knowledge.

I can agree with your criticism of pitchers being unable to hold runners. But you've been making this complaint constantly and there's no evidence that I've seen that this hurts the pop time or ability for catchers to throw out runners. In fact I've seen claims to the contrary.

90% of catching league wide uses this method because every baseball team has concluded there's limited drawbacks that are outweighed by the benefits.

Seriously?

You think a catcher can get off a throw with his leg bent, knee and buttocks on the ground, as from a crouch??

Seriously??

And no...90% of catchers aren't doing this in stolen base situations.

It's unclear it has any real impact.

And yes, other catchers use the stance. For example here's a great throwing catcher, always near the top of quickest pop time, I watched nab a runner today:

I hope I did not leave the impression I thought it was a good plan.  I haven't liked it since day 1.  🤕

It is just who he is.

Which is another reason to fire him and get a new manager.
