jaimedude Verified Member Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 Falvey and Lavine better bring back Kepler and Martin. Bullpen probably needs a guy now too. I think Henriquez may get optioned just because of this. Not saying it's deserved. If we keep Juliene than Miranda needs to go down. Definitely gonna have to add a pitcher.

And I guess since this is now a 9 game season and Detroit got clobbered by Baltimore, it is quite meaningful. Yeah. Vital. Most important. Can describe it a lot of ways. Saying, and repeating, it's the best win of the year tells me you're an unserious person and purely a propagandist. I was a bit low on him before tonight, but tonight I can solidly say I do not like him as a play by play. cmoss84 1

Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 Heck of a game from this pitching staff, considering they gave up only 2 runs when the Sox had 3 innings with a runner at 2nd to start. They won this game. I Miss The Lakes, Longdistancetwins, sampleSizeOfOne and 2 others 5

jaimedude Verified Member Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 I'm in favor of adding a free agent to the bullpen. Nobody in St Paul seems worthy of bringing up at least not left handed or short inning.
insagt1 Verified Member Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 So the results tonite really helped. Twins win and Tigers loss moves Twins back into the 3rd WC by 1 game. KC also lost so Twins trail 2nd WC by just 1 game. Seattle wins to stay 2 back. And of course Boston loses to make it near impossible for them to crawl back in it. Naturally one win does not a season make. they need to string a couple more. Props all the way around to the beleaguered bullpen who rose to the occasion tonite. The announcement of the payroll cut was one thing, but firing Bremer was when I realized I hated whomever was calling the shots. And for this guy? Pathetic. It's not like Dick wasn't a homer, but he wasn't a joke either.

That was a hell of a performance from the pitching staff. And also a pitiful effort by both offenses for 95% of the game. Danchat, I Miss The Lakes and IndyTwinsFan 3

You obviously aren't a small business owner like the Pohlads. It's far too early to see what the Twins can do next year, what if they get 10% less money from Bally Frankenstein? What if attendance has fallen off for completely unknown reasons? I'm thinking just to be safe, maybe contract the payroll another $30m and quietly start talks with the other owners to contract the team, and allow another owner to get a MN expansion team while receiving a multi-billion $ payout? People printing money counting beans on your favorite team is a huge warning sign, in case my sarcasm didn't hit. I still root for the guys, but realize what the big picture is. An arm or two, teamed with a decent utility guy at the deadline/season start would make all this crap superfluous.

stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 Given how the Twins are now fighting for their playoff lives and all of the chances that the Red Sox had to win the game at historic Fenway Park and how they managed to fan so many Red Sox hitters, it was a really good win. No, they weren't dominating, but a beaten down team was resilient enough to get the job done. It looks to me that the Red Sox are equally beaten down, which is a break for the Twins. Hopefully, they will win another game or two in Fenway. Also, the Twins are less than a game behind the Royals. Another chance to advance to the #2 wild card. Richie the Rally Goat and Peter 1 1
