stringer bell Verified Member Posted May 31, 2024 Posted May 31, 2024 Pablo's FIP is much more representative than his ERA (3.80 FIP, 5.25 ERA). It seems he is great until a big inning happens. There are several pitchers with large discrepancies between ERA and FIP. Okert and Durán have gotten "lucky", while Thielbar, Sands, López, Ober have suffered bad luck according to FIP.

CRF Verified Member Posted May 31, 2024 Posted May 31, 2024 Wouldn't be surprised if tonight's game is postponed, or at the very least delayed. It's raining now and isn't supposed to get any better later. We may have to push "Pablo Day" into tomorrow. EDIT: I apologize. I have no idea what I was thinking. Age will do that to a person at times. Patzky and glunn 2

Mrs Ash and I spent an unanticipated night in the state of Texas yesterday, due to a good-luck/bad-luck set of circumstances involving the weather and a connecting flight through DFW. We know better - don't fly through Denver to see family at Christmas, and don't fly through Dallas for summer vacations. They need to build a roof over the entire state. And of course, we remember General Sheridan's statement long ago: "If I owned Texas and Hell, I would rent out Texas and live in Hell." Yeah, there are a handful of relievers that are having issues with inherited runners. glunn 1

Tjwalsh65 Verified Member Posted May 31, 2024 Posted May 31, 2024 Lets see how the games in this next nine. I remember having a discussion around this date in 1991 with a friend saying that the twins would get going. The twins had just lost the first game of a Texas series and were 2 games under 500. Soon there after the Twins won 15 in a row and then held on. That was in the middle of Scott Erickson's win streak as well. 33 years ago now. Go Pablo Go Twins glunn 1

We had a delay due to fog and then were redirected to Dallas and missed our connection there. We did eventually land at MSP but it was after 10 PM. We then got on the wrong shuttle and were not home until 1 AM or so. glunn 1
