Boras is a A--hole and has ruined baseball.  He gets too many teams to overpay players and the teams have to raise ticket prices so many people do not go to games.

Boras is very good at his job. He gets to represent premier free agents because he gets them the best contracts. If we are pointing fingers about who ruined baseball (if it is really ruined), we have to look at ownership.

If Boras is bad for baseball then baseball is broken.  Can't complain when someone is good at their job if they are playing within the legal, moral, and ethical confines of that job.  Players deserve to be paid whatever they can bargain for.

I looked for that Twitter post for the past 2 days. I just saw it again because I wanted to respond.  I saw it was posted by Benjamin Dover. I can't believe I fell for that one. 😄 What a dumb a--.

I did that once, too

MODERATOR NOTE: Back to topic, please. This thread is about the possibilities of Bellinger, not Boras.

Oh come on now.  There is NO WAY I would support signing Boras to our team.  I mean what position would he even play?

On a (slightly) more serious note, I agree with above posters.  Only Bellenger if we trade Kep.

Could be water under the bridge at this point but in 2019, Correa went on MLB Network and told Bellinger to STFU - almost verbatim. Perhaps they've mended fences but of all the teams that went at Houston for the cheating scandal, the Dodgers were the most persistent and loudest about it.

The Dodgers got burned twice … once by Houston, then by Boston … so yeah, the loudest

I don't see it. Why would they throw money at Bellinger and not a starter?

They could offer the same amount to both and have the younger Bellinger be the one willing to take the short-term deal. But this offense has an opening still, and massive question marks at his 2 primary positions, so one could pretty easily make an argument that he'd be just as helpful as either of the major starters still available on the FA market.

Only way this happens is if Kepler gets traded.  If you see a Kepler trade pop up out of no where, similar to Donaldson trade a couple of years ago, then a signing of Bellinger similar to CC contract years ago could be coming.  Bellinger is looking to cash in on his bigger year last year, looking to show he is healthy and can be MVP type guy again.  He is the perfect type guy for "pillow" prove it deal.  However, he hits lefty and would just add to our too many lefties in OF, if Kepler stays on team.  He is below average against lefties for his career, but did hit them at high clip last year.

If we are going to make a splash with remaining FA I would like to see short term contract with Snell.

The Dodgers were doing the same things just not as well, which is a major part of their outrage.

Bellinger would be a good pinch hitter and late inning defensive player. JK. No way this happens.

Fyi I hate the thread topic, every time I see I think damn the Twins did it LOL.

There is a question mark at the end of the topic header and this is the off-season rumors, speculation and proposals forum …

On my computer the question mark isn't showing up LOL.   I keep getting my hopes up, you would think after 4-5 days I would figure it out 😉

I can't stand the Dodgers. Their payroll makes the mid-2000 Yankees look fiscally responsible. Just pointing out that if there is still bad blood between Bellinger and Correa, an already unlikely signing becomes even less likely.

Because they can trade for a starter. They’ve historically spent on position players and traded for pitching, right?

Starting to think that we're not going to see any other moves out of the front office. Whether that's the right move, or not, time will tell.

In terms of pitching, I wanted another starter to go with Descalfini and have Varland go to the bullpen because I think he can be absolutely dominant in that role.

And position players, a right-handed bat for the OF is close to a necessity but perhaps Austin Martin is ready for that role.

And now they're officially out on Bellinger. He's signing a three-year, $80 million deal with the Cubs... with opt-outs after the first two seasons. (Sound familiar?)

Was anyone really surprised he ended up signing with the Cubs?
