Cozinator Verified Member Posted August 25, 2023 Posted August 25, 2023 Over under on Gallo's strikeouts? I say two. (Now hopefully he proves me wrong and hits one out with a couple on base, lol...) Seriously, though, I can't understand why we haven't cut bait yet on him. Must be the $11 million we are giving him? I know it's easy for me to say, but isn't it time to admit he's a mistake? And call up some of the kids raking at St. Paul? Dave The Dastardly 1

Veteran with positional versatility and keep in mind this is a roster that is also currently rostering Jordan Luplow. RpR 1

Alex Kirilloff: Kirilloff said on Aug. 24 that his hitting progression had progressed to the point where he was hitting off the machine and back up to his normal volume of pregame work. He had not yet hit against live pitching at that point, but said he'd been doing all other baseball activity. Kirilloff does not have a timeline for his return, but he hoped to "talk about" a rehab assignment with the Twins soon. wabene and mrtwinsfan 2

If he plays with the Twins for the max 20 days, what team must they then call him up to?

Serious question: Why do return timetables take so long after they have gotten to this point? If AK is doing all his pregame work completely fine then shouldn't his shoulder be O.K. to play in a game? Was it his throwing shoulder and maybe he doesn't know if he can throw at full strength yet..?

This got me wondering about Larnach, His strikeout rate is 70 in about 190 a.b. But he would be Leading the Twins in r.b.i.,s 32 with the Twins and 30 in ST.P. WAS A high draft pick in 1st round 18 ? got one of the Prettiest swings ive seen, Now 26 years old , i know were Log Jammed with Lefty bats , but what are they gonna do with him, ? Gallos K- rate is over 50 percent, why arent they playing him at 1b as another option, ill put betting odds at 1 and a half on Gallo tonight, going over here ,

Likely because they're running him through exercises and drills while gradually increasing the intensity. They need to see how he responds to that before setting any sort of time table. SwainZag 1

I understand that is probably the reality, but how much more intensity would someone need over and above hitting on a machine (likely 30ish swings?). He can run, I'm sure he can throw, and he can hit off a machine..? Do they need him to take batting practice while standing barefoot on glass before he is game ready? Dave The Dastardly 1

Live pitching is different than a machine. Fielding is different than running. Throwing short distances is different than long distances. All pose different stresses on different parts of the body. And there's a possibility that there's still some lingering issues that they want cleared up before he does anything else. SwainZag 1
