Bad loss. The logic behind giving Pagan a shot in high leverage situations makes sense with how well he's pitched recently, but he just doesn't have what it takes. I imagine Falvey/Levine have been pestering Rocco to get him out of low leverage situations for some time now, and with Lopez not viable for now and Stewart pitching the past two days, it made sense to throw him out there. The FO's hubris with believing in Pagan costs this team another game.

Though I will also add, failing to score the runner on 3rd with 0 outs in the 7th IIRC was unacceptable. Why is hitting a sac fly so hard?!

The Pagan rollercoaster continues. Pitching him in lower leverage roles for a few weeks makes him seem like a pretty decent reliever, which then causes the team to think that just maybe he can be used again in higher leverage situations. When will they learn that Pagan will way too often crash and burn when the game is on the line.

Baseball 101,,game on the line two outs in 9th tying run at 3rd...you just cannot get called out on strikes on a close pitch. You have to be prepared to swing. thats the lousiest way to end a game and Twins are striking out far too much.

I wonder when Gallo comes back what they plan to do with him. He is Sano's clone. HR or k..with mostly k. At least Sano did hit over .200 most the time. Gallo has been below the Mendoza Line in several seasons. I can't see him helping the team like this.

This was a frustrating loss, which should have been a Twins victory.  When the Twins lose like this, I feel I have wasted 3 hours of my time watching this game. Do you think maybe Gardy was right after all...it is a long season and we shouldn't get too upset about this one loss..................................Nah, I don't buy that either.

Pagan being forced into a high leverage spot is never good. Have to score the insurance run from 3rd with no outs late in the game. Can't throw it a mile over the 1B head on a routine grounder to 3rd. Have to turn the inning ending double play with 1st and 3rd. Tough loss. But they should've loss the 2 previous games so let's keep some perspective here. They stole 2, and gave 1 away. They won the series. The sky isn't falling.

Stop blaming this loss on the offense because they did enough today.

This is a horrible loss and this is all on Rocco period.

I am not even blaming Pagan because he should have never been put in that situation to begin with.

This manager just continues to throw games away.

Stop being happy about winning 2-3 games when we should have swept them.

Rocco has to go and fast.

Who should've pitched the 8th?

We make sure kids don’t play with fire because it will hurt them.  We shield them from it.

baldelli cannot resist using pagan in that situation.  He got burned.  Take the fire away - aka release pagan.

We wouldn’t care as much if it were someone else…but the repeat negative WPA moments has just been too much.

I can't understand the logic of using Pagan when they had several other options.

3 guys in the pen were not available today. Who should have pitched in the 8th?

Who were the other options for the 8th and 9th? I don't like using Pagan in high leverage spots. I want him off the team because of it, but I don't see "several other options" to cover the last 2 innings of a 2 run game that were very encouraging.

"If you remove a few rough outings Pagan has been really good...."

Sure.  And if you remove the iceberg from the Atlantic Ocean on April 14, 1912, the Titanic has a really good voyage...

Sands, winder, balazovic, schufler, headrick, and Ortega.  They should all get looks when pagan is dfa’ed.

Winder or Lopez were the only 2 options available.  Does anybody trust them? Either way somebody would have to pitch the 9th

Duran in the ninth. He was not used yesterday, they have an off day tomorrow.

Why not Lopez? Sure he pitched an inning yesterday, but it was the only time he pitched all week.

Lopez for 2 innings? Who was going to pitch the 9th?

Rocco, Rocco, Rocco.  It's time to move on.  Front office will never (but needs to) act...

What did Rocco do wrong?

Sure Lopez pitches the 8th. Then what? Pagan facing the top of the order? Really?

He threw 38 pitches 2 days ago. There was 0% chance Duran was throwing today. They knew when they sent him out for the 10th on Friday they were finishing this series without Duran.
