Are They pulling plouffie after today ...

I thought I'd heard earlier this year that he was only going to be part-time, presumably for this year.

Really hope we get to experience more of him in the future.

I don't think he pitched all that well. He battled, but lots of traffic.

He pitched like the mid-back of the rotation. Lots of traffic as you said, but got it done. This time. Hopefully next time, too

Agree on the 9th. We hear the 5th today.

We played the 5th earlier this year and will again this summer … different venue, different conductor

We have a new Austrian conductor (whom we love) and he really likes Mahler. Did #2 last year and #4 and #5 this year.

Isn't Mahler on the 60 day IL? TJS?

Just stop.  He's not skipping a throw from 2nd on purpose.

The platinum glove winning shortstop routinely missing his target 15 ft short? But only when it's a close play and he has to throw hard? We can argue if it's an effective technique but that he's doing it on purpose is not in question.

No, and we loved him too (even though he was only half Austrian!). He retired in 2021 after 17 years here. His last season, with lots of special works he had been saving for it, was canceled by Covid. David Danzmayr took over in 2021 and did Mahler's Resurrection (#2) appropriately as his opening concert. Interestingly, we convinced my sibs to postpone my sister's 80th birthday celebration in 2021 by a week in order not to miss that, and we convinced them to postpone my brother's a week so we didn't have to miss today. Got to have priorities!

I think it might have been the right call, but maybe not. Hard to tell.

I think MLB needs something more definitive than "alert to the pitcher."

What they don't need is more judgement calls from umpires.
