How would you divvy up championships?

OK, just saw this on Twitter and thought it was a fun question. Twins fans haven't been able to enjoy a World Series championship in over 30 years. The Vikings have been to four Super Bowls without winning on, and they haven't played in a Super Bowl for more than 40 years. The Wild haven't been to a Finals. The Wolves haven't had a great team in almost 20 years and really never made a run toward a championship. Fortunately in Minnesota, we have the Lynx who were a force in the WNBA for several years.

So, Minnesota sports fans really just don't have a lot of experience with championships.

But, I still thought it would be kind of fun to consider this question:

For those at work where Twitter isn't allowed, the tweet says: "You get FIVE championships to divide among your favorite teams. What's the breakdown?"

For me, I think I would want three Twins World Series titles, just because it's obviously my favorite sport and think about how revered those players from 1987 and 1991 are still today.

Then I would want one Super Bowl championship for the Vikings. It's just been so long, and I know I have seen the Twins lose a couple of tough NFC championship series games ('98 and '09), so it would just be amazing to see a Vikings Super Bowl championship!

And, I used to watch the Wolves (and any basketball) much more, probably 20-30 years ago... I think it would be fun to watch a really great basketball team win an NBA Championship.

Your turn? Would you just pick all five for the Twins? Do you have favorite teams in other sports, or even in other states? Let us know.

Hey Seth:  I like your breakdown, "Howevverrr,  I would give the Twins(also my favorite) 2 the Vikes 1, the Wild 1, and last and even least the Timberwolves 1.  Or, I would go with the Twins 3 and the Vikes 2.  But realistically.  Give me 1 for any of these teams in the next 10 years and I could then go to my grave with a smile on my face.  ?

I would want 3 straight for the Vikings, so we can be in the convo of greatest dynasties of all time and have packers fans shut up about their team. Then 1 to the twins and 1 to the Wild. I like the wolves, but the NBA is not as fun to watch for me.

I want all the local teams to win their games and championships. But I'd be far more overjoyed for the Twins to win a championship than any of the other teams and I am far more disappointed when the Twins lose than any of the other teams. So:

Twins: 5. Vikings: 0. Wild: 0. T-Wolves: 0. Lynx: 0. Loons: 0. Did I leave anyone out?

Selfishly I'd say two for the Twins, three for the Wolves (I prefer baseball but feel like the Wolves have more to prove).

But since we're still in the midst of the holiday season, and I know a lot of people like football, and it would make a lot of Minnesotans happy, I'm gonna say give one to the Twins, one to the Vikings, one to the Wild, one to the Wolves, and one to the Loons (the Lynx don't need my help), but they all have to be in the same year, which will go down as the greatest year in sports history for any one market.

Would also be intellectually interested in arguing about the conversion rate from Minneasota team sports championships to Olympic gold medals for Minnesotan athletes, but I probably wouldn't spring for any,

2 Vikings (back-to-back)

2 Wild (couple years apart)

1 Twins (they'd get more, but I don't want them thinking that their current philosophy on 'how to win' justifies more than that)

0 'Wolves (wonder if they'll go with "Supersonics" when they move to Seattle?)

Three for the Twins...and one each for the Vikes and the Wolves. Gotta throw each of those two a bone.

3 Twins and 2 Vikings.

A Twins World Series win in today's market would be fun.

A Vikings Super Bowl win would be something great to see.

Wild playoff hockey is fun, but just can't get into hockey.

Timberwolves. I won't even start with the NBA. I miss the late 70s and 80s NBA.

2 for my beloved Twins.  2 for the Vikings because the fans deserve more than one (or none).  1 for the Wild, and I don't really follow hockey,  but it's minnesota hockey, so...  Wolves? NBA?  Zzzzźzzzzz.  Soccer? ??????

Either all 5 for the Twins since I follow them the most.  I could be fine with 1 of them going to the Vikings.  The Timberwolves need to relocate so there is more entertainment money for the Twins to help them get to 4 or 5 World Series Titles.

I prefer to share the wealth.  One for the Minnesota Vikings, although it will probably happen during our coldest winter on record.   One for the Minnesota Timberwolves, one for the Minnesota Wild, and one for the  Minnesota Lynx.  That leaves one for the Minnesota Twins and hopefully there won't be three decades before they win their next one.

2 for the Vikings, 1 for the Twins, 1 for the Wild, and 1 NCAA hockey championship for Minnesota State.

Swap out Minnesota State for SCSU and this is perfect.

Three World Series Championships for the Twins ( 2024, 2025 and 2026)and two basketball championships for the University of North Carolina Tar Heels (2023 and 2027).

I call foul! UNC is not a Minnesota team!

Squirrel, I live in North Carolina.  I can't get no respect ! The question did not limit teams by geography. I hope you noticed that I did give 3 championships to the Twins and only 2 to the Tar Heels. That shows that my loyalty majority quotient (LMQ)is with the Twins... 3/2.
