bighat Verified Member Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 2nd night in a row - bad baserunning mistake by Gio Urshela.
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 Can you challenge, I’m not sure he touched 3rd
kydoty Verified Member Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 Sucks, but looks like the right call was made.
mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 Gio No excuse for that, no excuse he thought 2 outs
stringer bell Verified Member Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 One side or the other is going to be upset by that call. Did Gio go past thrid? I dunno, but he didn't retouch.

Yep super frustrating to see a rally killed again by Gio. I thought he was gonna get doubled off for sure when the throw was coming in and looks like he was in a less conventional way.
downunder twins fan Verified Member Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 Interesting that they aren't showing the swings on Gameday replays of home runs, something to do with tipping pitches or what?

Yeah, my bet is looking real bad right now, however, I did also bet on the game's total score going over 8. Somehow, I got that right in the 2nd inning!!
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted June 10, 2022 Author Posted June 10, 2022 He never touched the base based on that view
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 It's amazing they're doing what they're doing offensively with all of these outs on the base paths.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 Not sure I would have wasted the challenge on that call.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 @Danchat Didn't make that bet, eh?
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 They need to get some better views if they want to do this right
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted June 10, 2022 Author Posted June 10, 2022 Someone needs to get ejected here. That was not the right call.

stringer bell Verified Member Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 Facebook says that this is the first time the first three hitters in a game homered for the Twins.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 He should have been tagging up anyway. That's the correct baserunning play. He scores anyway if the ball is over Judge's head, and tags if it's caught. We make a lot of baserunning mistakes. HRs cure that...
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted June 10, 2022 Author Posted June 10, 2022 The call on the field should have no barring on how the play is called after replay. Just my opinion, but it is my belief across all sports.
Puckett34 Verified Member Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 just need 8-10 more insurance runs
bighat Verified Member Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 Meanwhile this game is by no means over and Twins fans should consider themselves lucky if Bundy gives up 3 runs or less in the next 2 innings.
Steve71 Verified Member Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 Pretty clear he forgot how many outs there were after the long inning and then the pitching change. I believe it is SOP for base coaches to make contact with runners on base after a delay like that to remind them of the number of outs. Not clear if that was done here or not, but should be. Too bad, might need that extra run to be sure vs. this lineup.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 Make it through this inning Bundy and you did your job.

He’s already in scoring position at second, not a huge advantage to be at third with 2 outs

CRF Verified Member Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 Long way to go yet...and Bundy's still in there. I'd bet we need more runs.

The past week has been atrocious with all of the blunders between the players and Tommy Watkins ill advised decisions to send runners who have no chance of scoring.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 Stanton doesn’t make that catch.
