The Pitchers:

RHP Gerrit Cole (5-1, 2.78 ERA, 81K, 64.2 IP) vs RHP Dylan Bundy (3-3, 5.57 ERA, 36K, 42IP)

The Twins are tasked with trying to get to one of the top 5 starters in baseball in Gerrit Cole tonight, the head of the dominate Yankee’s rotation. Cole is coming off of a 7 inning performance against the Tigers where he allowed 2 hits, walked none, and struck out 9. He has gone at least 6 innings in his last 9 starts. Cole relies on a dominate high 90’s fastball, which opponents are hitting just .204 on. Opponents are fairing even worse on the slider which has an OAA of .159. He also features a cutter, changeup, and curve. I don’t need to tell you that he’s good. On the other hand, Bundy has been destroyed his last few starts, and may be entering one of his last few starts with the Twins as Joe Ryan and Josh Winder will make rehab starts for St. Paul today and tomorrow.

I remember that back to back to back to back HRs that day in June '66. Hope to caught the NYY sleeping and our offense rock again tonight and Bundy find his arm again. Go Twins!

How does this click picking work?

Does the person i name do better than folk expect? Or is this some jinks in disguise?

I will point my geiger counter at Mr. Bundy. and see if there is clicking happening.

That's the best line up we can throw out there. Hopefully, we can get something going against Cole. He can turn in a clunker every once in a while too...you never know, this could be it. Bundy has to somehow find a way to keep us in the game. If the evil empire goes off on him early, then we're more than likely dunzo.

It would be tempting to throw Duran out as an opener tonight given that he has not pitched since Sunday. See if he can do three shutout innings to get us off to a good start, then use others as the situation warrants.

Bundy completing 4 innings giving up 3 runs or less is a major win tonight IMO. Should have Smith, Cotton, Duran, and Moran rested and ready to pick up the slack from there.

Question: even if the Twins lose, do they feel satisfied that they stole a game from the Yankees and went 3-3 against TOR and NYY?

Next question: Is it possible that the Twins pull some magic out of their caps tonight and somehow steal a game in perhaps the biggest pitching mismatch in baseball this week?

The Twins playing their A lineup tonight with Cotton, Moran, Smith, and Duran available out of the bullpen. If anyone other than Bundy (or Sands) was pitching I'd be feeling pretty good about our chances.

Yankees starters are 24-94 vs. Bundy, with six home runs. Twins starters are 8-33 with one homer vs. Cole. Of course, that was a different Dylan Bundy, while Cole has only gotten more overpowering through the years.

My all-time record for Twins games is barely over .500. I never expect a win when I'm at the game, but hope to see a good game.

If "they" means the Yankees, you've got a great chance. :)

Three balls in the box not called strikes so far.

He'll make up for that by calling everything a strike when the Twins bat.
