Good luck to Lewis Thorpe. I'm thinking he needs to get his head right and his body right, but he showed potential before and I'm guessing if he does get right, he'll get another chance with someone.

As a LHP he'll get several more chances.

I am surprised that Celestino hasn't gotten sent down, since Gordon and Garlick are getting ABs over him. You've got to think a roster move will be coming there soon.

I think they’re waiting to see whether Buxton is 100%. They probably could go with 16 pitchers for the next ten days, but with options and 40-man limits, they might just go with the current 13-15 position player/pitcher distribution.

Agreed.

Could be waiting to see if Larnach goes back to the Minors.

Celestino's fielding speed can mean a lot is a close game.

Larnach is only going down if Kirilloff is ready, and that still doesn't solve the problem of Celestino getting any playing time.

Celestino would be eligible to be recalled immediately from optional assignment if Buxton (or anyone else) were to go on the IL.

As it is, neither Buxton nor Celestino is playing tonight.

Hindsight is 20-20, but the right move would have been to IL Buxton IMHO. He’s missed now almost eight games in the field (where his value is unquestioned) and they could have called up a hitter (Miranda?) to DH.

Hopefully Gray will be back in a few mores days (27th at the latest).

But come May 1 (a week from Sunday), the Twins will have to send out two guys anyways.

Well, it's April and there is already a catcher conundrum. Sanchez was scratched with abdominal discomfort and will have an MRI. I'm guessing one of the AAA catchers is on his way from Toledo. That is speculation folks.

I was confused for a minute by your “Toledo” then I realized the Saints don’t play all their games at home and not all call ups are just across the River.

Getting a "phantom injury" vibe about the Romero IL placement.

Romero’s injury would run to April 30, so he’ll be eligible for a rehab stint and avoid an option for a bit. And besides we don’t need him as an emergency catcher!

I was surprised that the Twins picked Godoy over Cisco to back up Jeffers. I'm wondering if maybe it is because Godoy has an option remaining? Godoy wasn't listed in "out of options" by mlbtraderumors.com, so I'm guessing he can be optioned and if they brought up Cisco, they would risk losing him if the team wanted him to go back to St. Paul.

Wow....Sands has struggled since moving to the bullpen.  Hope Ober is just a groin strain.....

He's on the 40-man and can give the club innings, I guess. I'm guessing that he'll fill Winder's role of long relief until Gray and/or Ober are back.

That was my question, thanks for answering it before I asked

With how poorly Thielbar has pitched, I'm a little surprised that Sands got the callup over Moran. I am also curious to see how long it is before Yennier Cano is given a shot (though he would have to be added to the 40 man roster).

Does anyone know when Gray is back?

He’s doing a rehab start today or tomorrow and may be ready for activation in time for his next start.

Sano to the IL, Godoy optioned to St. Paul.

That was pretty much what many were expecting

Gray AND Balazovic both pitched today for the Mussels. Gray went three innings, Balazovic got hit hard in two. Imagine Gary will get one more rehb start (?) probably at St. Paul.

From what I heard he probably won't.
