Where is Trevor May?

In May's last 4 appearances he has two losses and a blown save with his ERA rising a full point. With the way the front office is cutting relievers right after a bad game, even if it was that reliever's first bad game in months, Baldelli may be sitting him for his own good.

I would expect to see him pitch in games that don't matter for the next few weeks and with a very short leash.

For May's own good, but is it for the Twins/Baldelli's own good? Would we rather have acquired an additional reliever at the deadline? Or have one of Littell/Thorpe/Stashak/Smeltzer/Poppen/Stewart up here a bit more often?

Stashak, Poppen and Stewart IMO seem like emergency guys you bring up for double headers or as the last man out of the bullpen. I like Littel and Thorpe, Smeltzer seems like a nice long man, spot starter but with his stuff he seems prone to the long ball, which means if is in not right on he will give up runs. (Hence the 5 Homers in 22 innings)

Well, we've got an 8 man pen as of now, and Littell and Smeltzer aren't in it, but Stashak still is. (I suspect Littell may come up today and replace Stashak, though.)

Is it time to give Littell a more permanent spot (May's?) and keep rotating guys through the Stashak spot?

Graterol, perhaps. I suspect he'll have to make a few appearances above the GCL first, though!

Colina actually isn't Rule 5 eligible until after the 2020 season, so I wouldn't expect to see him this year. Now obviously, if they really think he's the best guy to potentially pull a K-Rod in September/October, go ahead, but it's hard to predict that with much confidence!

Duran might have the next best case -- like Graterol, he will require a 40-man spot this offseason anyway.

Graterol's stuff could definitely play by missing AAA. Good whip numbers high velocity. Let's get this guy up and see if he can make MLB hitters look silly.

Duran and Graterol could help.

They don’t want to use an option so as long as they don’t send them back down for 20 days they won’t use an option.

I think they will be careful with with Graterol but maybe we will see Duran in mid August. Worst case he struggles and goes back down only to return in September so an option isn’t used.

I hope him and Sam are checking out street maps of Cleveland...can I go 1 day without taking a jab at May and Cleveland. Apparently not.

The Twins need to use him to find out where he is at frankly. Not using him doesn’t help anyone. A 3 run lead against a bad team (like, say, just as an example the Marlins) might have been a good opportunity.

I'd love to see some Graterol, but I also want to see more Littell. He only had one outing where he gave up a run since his conversion to relief, but even better, unlike Stewart, Stashak, Harper, Duffey, Parker and May, I don't recall ever seeing the deer-in-the-headlights look on him.

Are you sure? AA counts as "professional" baseball.

Not interested in seeing Poppen, Stewart and Stashak at all. I would like to see a lot more Smeltzer, Thorpe and Littell.

I am not certain I am answering your question but from the MLB glossary...

“When a player is optioned to the Minors for a span of more than 20 days, he loses an option. Players who are optioned to the Minors are removed from a team's active 25-man roster but remain on the 40-man roster.”

It seems to this point Sam Dyson has yet to record his first out. Lost the lead in game 3 against the Marlins.in the ninth and he couldn't get one out against KC.

Man, when you get in Rocco's doghouse, you will be there for a while.

1 pitch? With a 5 run lead??

From these comments he appears to be in everyone'e doghouse.    sub 4.00 ERA even with the lousy outings.   10 strike outs per 9.   Stop hanging curveballs.    I think he has too much talent to give up on.   We need him to get right so get him some innings.   Every one has bad streaks.   Is it chronic or temporary?   I think it is temporary.   Much like Jesse Crain from years back it really comes down to how much confidence he has in himself.   Crain once told Gardy he had no idea what he was doing out there and volunteered to go to the minors.  A couple weeks there and he came back with a terrific streak.   I don't think May has reached that point or if he will.   If he hasn't lost confidence in himself then get out him out there.
