Where is Trevor May?

From these comments he appears to be in everyone'e doghouse.    sub 4.00 ERA even with the lousy outings.   10 strike outs per 9.   Stop hanging curveballs.    I think he has too much talent to give up on.   We need him to get right so get him some innings.   Every one has bad streaks.   Is it chronic or temporary?   I think it is temporary.   Much like Jesse Crain from years back it really comes down to how much confidence he has in himself.   Crain once told Gardy he had no idea what he was doing out there and volunteered to go to the minors.  A couple weeks there and he came back with a terrific streak.   I don't think May has reached that point or if he will.   If he hasn't lost confidence in himself then get out him out there.

May turns 30 shortly. He's the 2nd most senior Twin. Time to cut bait.

I'm not sure May has ever been that guy.

The Twins aren’t going to know whether to cut bait with May if they don’t see him pitch regularly.

May was warming up in I think the 10th yesterday but Rocco went with Stashak instead.

IIRC, you and a bunch of other posters roughed me up on the other thread a couple weeks ago when I said May was on the bubble.... but May, in point of fact, was imploding right before our eyes. Rocco finally left him out there a couple Sundays ago, agonizingly and evidently cluelessly twisting in the wind, as

 

1)"punishment" for his recent horrendous performances.

2)sending an SOS to the FO to make deals for RP help ASAP 'cause May is useless.

 

If May didn't "get the message" from all of the other "Ms" who were DFA'd,

his "puishihment outing" and now,

only throwing 1 pitch when up by 5 runs,

 

he never will.

 

But something has to be done about May's situation. His stuff is too good. But the need for another effective RP is too critical. He can't fill up a roster spot in the current situation. Since they didn't/couldn't trade him before the deadline, I would hope May would agree to go on an IL "rehab assignment" before the Twins just "cut bait."

I am glad they didn’t cut bait yet. Great trust shown from Baldelli letting him go a second inning against the dangerous top of the order for the Braves.
