F.O. clearly doesn't believe in this team. Why then, should we?

Wouldn't adding players mean that they don't believe in this team?  We are on pace to win 99 games.

Falvey and Levine hoping for significant injuries to Astros, Yankees, Indians and A's in order to be competitive this year.

Rogers
Romo
Harper
Thorpe

I feel confident in those guys. I feel ok about Duffey. Not a fan of May, but hopefully he can turn it around.

They still have two spots on the 40 man roster to fill.

This is unbelievable.

People can make all the excuses they want, but this comes down to the Pohlads, right? I refuse to believe, if Falvine is actually doing their job, that they couldn’t have reached a deal for a couple of these marginal middle relievers at minimum. There is no explanation that makes this an OK trade deadline.

By their own admission, they would make moves when the championship window is open.

I'm about to acquire a Chipotle burrito bowl for cash considerations...

I hope you waited to the last minute to get them to throw in some free guacamole.  Since it's National Avocado Day and all....

I hope they don’t make a last minute move for a middling reliever.

Go big or stay with their roster.

I kinda agree. But, therein lies the problem. The sellers aren't moving the high end arms. If they were, the Yankees (at least) would have landed one by now. Still, I don't know why the Twins wouldn't have been aggressive on one more mid-tier reliever. Couldn't have hurt, and you're going to end up moving/exposing some of these prospects sooner or later, regardless.

Stunned and disappointed.

"Nobody made deals" isn't true. The Braves, A's, Nationals went out there and improved their bullpens with huge overhauls.

And that’s that. 3pm.

Yep. This one hurts. Gotta think about why I care about this team when ownership/FO doesn't care to supplement the team.

Marlins deal (former Twins minor leaguer) Nick Anderson to Tampa. He would have looked nice in our bullpen...

I think we broke TD...

Admittedly, in years past we broke it watching the MLB draft... this is an improvement... though I'm really hoping they pulled something off.

I'd be happy with Mike Minor.

The Twins front office has done a great job of building the everyday lineup and an OK job with the rotation. Their approach to the bullpen, however, baffles me. They have been completely unwilling to spend even modest money on free agent relievers and now appear unwilling to expend any prospect capital to acquire bullpen help in trade.

To summarize the Twins approach:

- refuse to sign even moderately priced free agent relievers

- sign Parker out of the bargain bin in free agency (since DFAd)

- take a good look at the scrap heap and end up with one low leverage reliever in Harper (MaGill, Morin, Adams DFAd)

- assume internal options will be better than they actually are ending up with a couple low to mid leverage guys in Duffey and May (Mejia, Vasques, Moya DFAd with Romero and Hildenberger relegated to AAA)

- give all the AAA starters a shot in the bullpen and pray (Stewart, Littell, Thorpe, Smeltzer, and Poppen currently get try outs)

- trade for Romo and decide that Rogers/Romo is enough to carry the bullpen into the playoffs
