Blake Verified Member Posted May 16, 2019 Posted May 16, 2019 The Twins are on a West Coast swing, starting in the North, though still south of the Twin Cities, in Seattle, facing the Mariners. This should be an interesting series because the Mariners have been able to put some runs on the board. Though, their pitching seems to be able to give up quite a few runs also. Which is good for the Twins, not so good for Seattle. It's funny, because I sort of kept an eye on Seattle and noticed they had a good record, but looked at how many runs they were giving up and realized their early season record was smoke and mirrors. And, as of this writing, Seattle shows a -12 run differential while our favorite team, the Twins, show a run differential of +52. Now for some things to think about; 1: 7:10 start time on the West Coast. Blech.2. 9:10 start time for the Midwest. Double Blech3. Any sort of "light" beer: Blech and ptui4. Daylight Savings Time: Blech, ptui and arrggh! Pitching for the Twins: Michael Pineda Pitching for Seattle: Erik Swanson 5. Play Ball!

yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted May 16, 2019 Posted May 16, 2019 I always find objections to daylight savings time curious. Without it, the sun would be peaking over the horizon at about 4 AM this time of the year and closer to 3:30 in most of June and July. Is that really what you want? When half of the population was working in agriculture, it didn’t matter. The “business world” runs 7 to 5 and pretty much always has.
diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2019 Posted May 16, 2019 Game thread game... let's try and add lines/titles from Chicago songs to fit in context with ongoing conversations.

I agree and don't understand it either. Give me longer sunlight after work opposed before it. A lot more people are going to take advantage of sunlight at 8 PM vs 4 AM.

ashbury Verified Member Posted May 16, 2019 Posted May 16, 2019 so just leave it there all year long and be done with it.If you keep saving up that daylight for years on end, without some kind of relief valve there might eventually be a rip in the space-time continuum.

AZ and IN did for the longest time.. Pretty sure they didn't turn into blackholes.

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 16, 2019 Posted May 16, 2019 Well, at least no one will be saying "I can't fight this feeling anymore" when Hildy comes in. Least of all the band Chicago.

VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted May 16, 2019 Posted May 16, 2019 In case y'all didn't catch it, Seattle also has a relief pitcher named Austin Adams.

Don Walcott Verified Member Posted May 16, 2019 Posted May 16, 2019 I'm betting Seattle gets 4 runs tonight. Question is, will the final score be 25- or 6-to-4?
diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2019 Posted May 16, 2019 70s bands too yeah, but being born in December of 77, as far as I'm concerned the 70s didn't exist.

I grew up in Indiana and you lived there for a good while, and Chief (among others on TD) knows AZ. We have, in other words, multiple witnesses as to the blackholishness of those two states.

I'm not so sure about that. AZ has sucked in a lot of Minnesotans lately. And Indiana... well if you've ever driven down I65 from Indianapolis to Louisville on a hot summer's day you had to wonder if you were going to get a blackhole standing in line at the only wayside rest in the state.

Something about the weather . . . .
