Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 Just watched that. That looked awful. Poor guy. Always hoped he was going to be a beast for the Twins. Hope this isn't career ending; although, it sure looked like it might be.Yikes, that looked worse than usual. Reminds me of Joel Zumaya. I guess this is why the FO didn't bother protecting him, as they probably didn't think he could stay healthy.
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 Nick Burdi hurt himself pretty badly tonight. Crying on the mound. Worked all the way back and now he hurt himself again. Here's to a speedy recovery!!!
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 23, 2019 Author Posted April 23, 2019 Someone let me know when my "timeout" is over so I can post something again. If no one else has said anything... Come on back in. For some reason i am conflaiting nursery rhymes with little jack horner pulling a black bird out of the pie with his thumb, happy to have eaten crow.

Channing1964 Verified Member Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 Weird, I always thought baseball was a team game. You really believe that simply having been on a championship TEAM automatically makes you a clutch player, and never being on a championship TEAM makes you unclutch? Can you give me some examples of Gonzalez' leadership skills that led to the Astros WS title, aside from simply being on their roster? You could just remember the 2017 World Series. Or if you didn't watch it you could go back and watch the tape. Houston is not my team but I am sure i could prove it with statistics, quotes and interviews from teammates, coaches, and fans, or illustrating how he filled in for all the injuries during their fantastic 2017 regular season. If you require all of that over my opinion of Michael Brantley then I'm way more important than I ever thought I was. Love him if you want to. He's someone that Im glad we dont have to play against 19 times a year anymore. He's also someone I'd never want to see in a Minnesota Twins uniform.

Worked all the way back and now he hurt himself again.Oh, my gosh. I checked in on that Pirates game to see what happened, and it was just heartbreaking. You've really got to feel for this kid. Man, all that work he did to get himself back- and wow, what a line he had coming in- 8.1 innings, 17 Ks! Just went down in a heap after throwing a pitch- and the whole ballpark just silent.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 Twins challenge safe call at second to see if Schoop got the runner with his crazy 180 throw, and also to see if he's actually made out of polymimetic alloy... http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-6F-c_ve3eh8/Uo68vCRubiI/AAAAAAAAErs/tZynidBOPp8/s320/terminator-2-t-1000-o.gif

twinssporto Verified Member Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 He shoulda thrown another curve or gone low and away with that fastball.
David HK Verified Member Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 Sire of Ft Myers tarnished his armour a bit there...
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 I blame Castro for that home run. That's called giving in, when a curveball pitcher tries to "sneak" a mediocre fastball past one of the best young hitters in the game. Doooods. Stick with what you do well. Keep throwing the curve!
notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 What's funny is this whole time I thought Belisle was pitching.

I called that pitch and location. The previous pitch Correa was leaning over the plate to hit the curve. Harper hit Castro's spot, problem is 91 is pretty average.
David HK Verified Member Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 I wonder if Parker's cold is better. Six-out save, anyone?
twins_89 Verified Member Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 The Twins are going to have to do something to upgrade the bullpen. The team just can't survive with only 3 guys that have earned any degree of trust (Rogers, Hildenberger, and Parker).

glunn Community Moderator Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 We need to score Buxton here. An insurance run would be huge.
