wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 That was a microcosm of the entire season right there.
amjgt Verified Member Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 That was a pathetic effort by Adrianza.
Jham Verified Member Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 So is Gonsalves proof of good or poor player development? Asking for friend.
Krusington Verified Member Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 Am I the only person that thinks Kohl Stewarts "stuff" blows Gonsalves "stuff" out of the water?
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 Gonsalves got a gift strike call from the plate ump, otherwise he's not gotten any breaks during this second inning. The double was legit, after that it's been bad luck from the pitcher's perspective.

yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 This could be going better.
akmanak Verified Member Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 He is leaving everything up and his control is a trainwreck.
Jham Verified Member Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 Is Gonsalves effectively wild or effectively, just wild? Asking for my wife.
mrmpls Verified Member Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 Better put up alot of runs tonight, not the start the kid was looking for!
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 This is going well.I honestly did not see your post before making mine...
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 I honestly did not see your post before making mine...I demand an apology
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 He’s getting bad lucked all around the yard, John. You're going to hold a bleeder, a fluke HBP, and a popup no one could get to, against him? He could make his own luck, no question, with some better stuff or at least better execution of what he's throwing. But he could easily have been out of this inning with no runs scored, even with the leadoff double.
MN_ExPat Verified Member Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 Welcome to the bigs kid. Better luck next time.
mrmpls Verified Member Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 That was a pathetic effort by Adrianza.ya it looked like mauer backed off for Cave to take charge then Ehire scared Cave ??
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 So is Gonsalves proof of good or poor player development? Asking for friend. IMO, neither yet. He's a 4th round pick with good, not great, stuff.....
Jham Verified Member Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 No velocity. No plus pitch. No control. Consistently high in the zone. Nothing really outside the scouting report except for the results. Hope that was nerves. u g l y rain delay is his alibi.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 You're going to hold a bleeder, a fluke HBP (what’s a fluke HBP anyway?), and a popup no one could get to, against him? He could make his own luck, no question, with some better stuff or at least better execution of what he's throwing. But he could easily have been out of this inning with no runs scored, even with the leadoff double. The ground ball and bloop hit I can chalk up to poor luck. The rocket triple to lead off the inning, the HBP, the two walks, and the line drive double down the line...on him. He could have easily been out of the inning with no runs scored? Yeah, no.
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 You don’t see a WHIP of over 7 very often.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 I think we are seeing why the FO was reluctant to call up pitching prospects earlier. Now, as a result of Gonsalves very short start, the Twins will likely be forced into a roster move to bring in a fresh arm or two.
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 I just realized who Busenitz reminds me of: with that scruffy beard, he could sign autographs for Andy Samberg if he wanted to.
