Game Thread (8/20): Twins vs. White Sox, 6:10 pm CT

But Buxton wouldn’t have done that silly hop-half-jump.

He probably would have crashed into the wall at full speed.

[Don Walcott]

Garcia did his hammy.

[ashbury]

I like that Booze is getting his shot

ISWYDT.

[ashbury]

The fact that the Twins have only one hit against Giolito is troubling.

Hey, it's a winnable ballgame. Gonsalves got us deep enough into the game to turn it over to the bullpen.

[Don Walcott]

Cave does like center field.

[wsnydes]

Cave has some surprising pop.

[ashbury]

Jake Cave: "Swing hard, just in case you make contact."

[twinsbaby]

Finally, Cave got one for 2-run HR.

[Danchat]

Yeah, there we go Cave! We're within striking distance now!!

How about these former Yankee prospects? Cave and Austin are looking pretty good!

[Aggies7]

I’m glad the Yankees enjoy giving up their prospects for very little return.

[Platoon]

Gonsalves looked like a crafty lefty, who isn't yet crafty enough for the MLB level. Those kind of pitchers take time if they indeed ever do make it.

Not exactly, we traded a guy who threw 100mph and a plus breaking ball for Cave.

Can't beat 'em, acquire 'em is what I always say! Edited August 21, 2018 by wsnydes

I'm sure Yankees Daily is raking their FO over the coals even as we speak.

Really? I'd never heard of the guy and I've never seen him on a prospect list. His numbers are pretty good though...

But he probably won't be debuting 'til around 2022, so I guess the Yankees aren't trying to win until then, huh?    /sarcasm

Them guys is a dime a dozen. The new Market Inefficiency is 88-MPH pitchers with 71-MPH lollipop curves.

They were pretty ticked about Austin. Cave not so much.

With the way the twins develop pitching talent, Gil might have been lucky to leave

Wow, Drake is funky as hell - him back to back with Hildenberger, mess em up.

I can see why 5 teams have taken a shot at Drake.

Yeah, he's got some stuff and he's getting outs. I'm not sure what his future with this team is, but he's pitching well, so I can't complain.

My grandparents have better luck with technology than the target field instant replay

[yarnivek1972]

I wonder if this same umpiring crew will work the two games in Chicago.

[Boof_The_Bonser]

I like me some Polanco, let’s go!

I don't tell a lie for anyone. So, here we go for three sources include BA.

In case it matters, all replay is handled by a room full of druids in NYC.

Oh boy, you never want to hear anything like “could be one of the most lopsided trades in history”

[Monkeypaws]

Not impressed with the job of ump Nick Mahrley behind the plate tonight.

It’ll have a hard time dethroning the Young/Harris for Garza/Bartlett trade or (going the other way) the Pierzynski for Nathan/Liriano/Bonser trade for most lopsided in team history.

Maybe we should see if his cousin Bob can fill in, mahn.
