Dear Outfielders

 

Have you ever approached a batted ball that caroms off the wall? It can be tricky at times yes but please spend a little bit of time securing the ball before attempting to throw it in the general direction of the infield

 

We will hold off on our standard request of throwing the ball to the short little guy 2/3 of the way to home plate as to not confuse you with too many instructions

 

Just pick the ball up off the wall please

He had a hair under 23 fWAR in like, what, 17 or so seasons, right?  Two AS games, one SS.  

 

Great might be over-stating.  Mauer has more than twice as much fWAR in 200 or so less games played.

But almost 2000 games caught by AJ...tremendous value in that.

The part of the preseason narrative that sold me on the Twins being over 500 was all the divisional game against these terrible teams-  the White Sox, Royals, and Tigers.  The Twins are only 2 over against the division overall, including the Indians (and tonight's impending loss).  Not exactly getting it done.

 

If they cleaned up against those teams, they would be making this something like an actual playoff race for Twins fans.
